Has anyone got any facts or insight into these alleged costs that SISU/OTIUM claim would effectively make the "rent free offer" reported in the CT actually be £320,000 for the first year & then £420,000 for the next 2?

....Or is it all just more bullshit from one side in this depressing bullshit competition between the various groups of suited greedy incompetent bullshitting twats......

I'd be interested to know how much match day costs are in Northampton.

Either way, the offer from acl would see the club far better off financially.

I think its time all fans united in pressuring the club into accepting this.

Yeah...it would be great to actually see some genuine official costs......but we've got more chance of seeing Jesus juggling elephants whilst riding a unicycle.....

think about it, 7000 fans traveling to MK for £ 20.00 a pop, £ 140,000.00 in ticket sales. how many games would it take to recoup that matchday cost? not a whole season that for sure

Don't quote me but I seem to recall it equates to around £10K. per game ,like last year with all the cup games we must have played around 30 +a bit when the Gas gets turned on for the undersoil.That was the basis last year anyway.

so if it is say 15k per game

an extra 10k people at the ricoh, paying an average of £15 per ticket = £150k extra revenue
Even with no food and drink v say 5k at sixfields

we would still be 130k per match better off at the ricoh

thats a couple of million this season alone

No argument that SISU put forward cantered around match day fees makes any sense. 12000 paying customers at an average of £20 quid a game is just shy of a 1/4 of a million per home game, take of the fees of 320k a season and your still left a profit of 4.4 million based on 20 home games. The figures SISU speak about don't add up, its all smoke and mirrors they need an accountant that tells them the home truths. NPOM

Aren't these 'match-day' costs the additional costs incurred in hosting a game; namely policing, stewards, etc?

If so, 'rent free' really is 'rent free'. It's just plus normal costs.

I could rent you a house 'rent free'; but you'd still have to pay for your own electric, gas and food. It'd still be rent free.

Surely they can't be complaining about incurring such costs, FFS?!?

Actually I don't think SISU / Otium are trying to convince Cov fans of anything. Most don't believe a word they say anyway, they must know that.

They are probably trying to convince their investors to not pull the plug on this ridiculous battle which continues to cost them ever more money. Even if they can rid themselves of huge debts from time to time by liquidating parts of the company.

But surely even if they owned the freehold they'd be paying "matchday costs" regardless?

Do they want to be paid for playing there?

If I was them one of the first things I'd do upon a return is shut off the upper rows, that should cut the cleaning and steward costs at least I'd have thought.

Pretty sure stewards were employed by the club (they were in the accounts as employees), and that the club paid the police directly? If that's true what costs £10k per game? And do ACL slap management fees on that?

Any ideas OSB?

Almost every thread is the same and ends up discussing sisu and returning to the Ricoh.

You all need to clearly understand that sisu have no interest in CCFC the FANS or COVENTRY.
There only interest is how much money they can cream off from an ailing business. To achieve this
they need to remove ACL and CCC from the equation and obtain the Ricoh at a liquidation price.
The surrounding land could either be developed by them or more likely be sold on to a developer
for a huge sum. CCFC and the Ricoh could then be sold as a going concern again at huge profit to the grasping sisu.

Nobody unless it's a multi billionaire is going to purchase CCFC & Ryton without a stadium in Coventry
to play in.

Our only hope of a satisfactory solution is for the league to remove the Golden share from Otium and
insist on an immediate return to Coventry.to this end Mr Cunningham the Coventry MP has tabled another
early day motion saying that the League and the FA are not fit for purpose and need reforming.
This motion is getting support in the commons and even Robinson has signed it.

do you know when the early day motion is.

i sent an email to rugby MP Mark Pawsey asking him to support it and i had a nice letter the very next day in the post confirming he would. hopefully i can get him to do it again.

MP Tables Early Day Motion
Coventry MP Jim Cunningham has called for the Government to force reforms on the Football Association and those running the game and the clubs.
The MP for Coventry South has tabled an Early Day Motion 816 which states:
"That this House notes the recent work of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee into Football Governance; further notes the report published by the Committee in July 2011 that found the Football Association (FA) in need of urgent reform; further notes that the report raised concerns including that the leagues have too great an influence over the FA's decision-making processes, at the increasing commercialisation of the game and the consequent financial risk being taken on by football clubs; further notes the report's call for the industry to put forward proposals for reform and the subsequent proposals from football authorities; further notes the Committee's rejection of the proposals and calls for the Government to bring forward legislative proposals; further notes the position of the Government as expressed in a letter of 30 April 2013 from the then Minister for Sport to the Committee as reproduced as an Appendix to the Committee's First Special Report of 2013-14, HC 156, stating that he agreed with the committee's recommendation that in the absence of significant progress by the beginning of next season, the Government should seek to introduce legislation as soon as practicably possible and that 'I have already been given drafting authority by the Parliamentary Counsel, and my officials have started working up a draft Bill and supporting documentation should football fail to deliver. This Bill will reflect the conclusions of your report'; and calls on the Government to bring forward legislation on football governance and finances as soon possible."
The motion has currently been signed by 23 other MP's including former Coventry City Chairman Geoffrey Robinson.

Are these costs stacked high with surcharges, fees, add-ons etc. from greedy ACL & therefore sisu may have a point.....or are they "standard" matchday costs for the likes of stewards, police etc. which every club in the land would expect to have to pay....& therefore just yet more sisu bullshit.....

I can remember that somebody said that Stewards and Police are paid for by the club directly. The ground staff used to be employed by CCFC so they looked after the pitch but obviously now with ACL so might need to pay a rate for the pitch to be maintained.

I'm pretty sure the stewards were employed by the club and reflected in the accounts, I would imagine the club pay the police direct, rather than through ACL.

I read that CCFC were paying £23K for the Match day running cost to ACL when they were not paying the Rent.
