Clarke, Willis, Wilson, Haynes, Thomas. I know we have invested lately but this is some absolute quality. Looking at the players we have brought through in recent years we could be the next Southampton. Absolutely outstanding. Well done to whoever put the Academy foundations in place.

More to come through yet, too! Seeing Willis and Haynes now, it's a bit like when you don't see your nephews for a few years and when you do, suddenly they're all grown up and no longer children! Willis is quite a unit now. And Haynes seriously struts-not much danger of barfing from nervousness now.

Lets not forget Wilson and Christie, both academy graduates that have gone on to higher leagues.

I think we have just seen that the behind the scenes work is coming to fruition. I wonder what made rioch leave though. He seems to have had a great hand in these young lads.

Sky talking to Pressley now, plenty of praise for Haynes.

So why has Waggott changed the successful academy staff such as Gregor Rioch, David Busst and others ?

Makes you wonder if it is our academy in particular or Pressley just affording the youth an opportunity, and then handling their development in the correct manner

Rioch left to get a better job, not sure that's Waggot's fault.

Agreed, Pressley said at the fans forum it was entirely Rioch's choice to leave so I'm assuming he is also calling him a liar.

Why on earth would the club want to force Rioch out anyway?

I understood it to be Riochs choice to leave.

The guy in charge at the moment Richard Stevens is the real man responsible for what we have seen coming through, he was GR's right hand man for 6 years and responsible for the training program where GR was the face. The pipeline is strong and if Waggott has any sense he will try and lock RS into an extended contact as a priority. Great that SP keeps on showing faith in the academy, testament to RS and his team.

No, that's untrue. The real reason he left was because of the clubs failure to correct the spelling of his name in large red letters on the stadium.
