I hardly ever go on holiday unfortunately.

My wife always only wants to go to Russia and I do not want to go there again. 5 times now for me and I've had my fill of the place.

Managed to get 3 days in Bournemouth, just me and my daughter, but the last holiday for me was 5 years ago.

Sunny Cov for me again this year.

She may well be.

She thinks Putin is wonderful and a very honest, decent and caring man, who would never ever do wrong.

They are just 'peacekeeping' in Ukraine apparently.

No wonder you're fond of the place mate. Mind you, me and my wife live 9 miles outside Cov but have often just gone over as tourists, had a night at the theatre and a few bevs and stayed in a hotel in town. When you live in a large village suburban sprawl like we do, even Coventry seems like a big, interesting metropolis of stuff to do. People forget how convenient it is to have a good bus service, direct trains to the capital, leisure facilities, sports stadiums, a variety of shops, a fish market, beautiful historic buildings at every turn in CV1. There is better more equipped places but I'm still a fan !....................Oh and holidays, yes, just a few days in Wales and will be off to Spain at the end of June as long as my poorly Mother in Law holds up.

So far this year I've been in India, Nepal and Thailand and been meaning to get to Utrecht for the past 10 years so this year we're definitely doing a long weekend there but bar that nothing, although I am off to Spain and Vegas in January and February next year.

A lad I used to work with had to go to Russia a lot through work and said it was one of the most thoroughly depressing places he ever had to visit, with the Moscowites in particular being a right miserable bunch.

And this was from a lad who was born in Wales and served in Afghanistan.

We are in the Al Garve at present, having amazing weather.
Met two City fans so far who noticed tattoo on my leg.
might be a poor team at present but still very proud to say who I support and where I am from.

Vegas a week today for 12 nights, we arn't big gamblers more go for the food, shows, weather, wonderful hotels, the place is just so full of life it's alot of fun, not the most cultured of holidays but sometimes you just want to sit in the sunshine in the day with a cocktail and have some fun at nighttime.

Thoroughly recommend St. Petersburg. Go there. Very Westernised, more liberal feel about the place.

Avoid most other places. They treat you like a criminal.

Every time you enter Russia you have to report to some local office within 3 days of your arrival. I had to queue for 2 1/2 days to be seen, for many hours each day.

They see you if you want to see you and don't if they don't. There was a massive queue and we waited in line for about 3 hours and then the official decided he was going to lunch and told us all to come back in 2 hours. We went back and he decided he was now shut for the day. And this is how they treat local Russians too. It was nothing to do with my being English. Every other person in front of me was Russian and they were all moaning and all saying this is just a normal, everyday scenario.

St. Petersburg! Go to the Hermitage too. Fab museum. Also The Idiot Cafe, where they do great food and you can read any book from the shelves while you're eating.

Avoid everywhere else. As LG says, thoroughly depressing.

Before i moved here i used to wonder why 'mericans never had passports and had never left the shores of the U.S of A but now i know why.
Everything you ever want is here.

This year I've been Miami, Key West (Sun), New York (City), Gatlinburg TN and Asheville NC (Mountains), Savannah GA (Historical) and heading to Seattle WA in a few months for the West Coast.
Early next year we're heading to Salt Lake City UT for skiing.

You can't beat the States for a great holiday.

My brother used to live in Denver and I used to absolutely love going there. 300 days of sunshine per year, lakes and mountains.

Fantastic.

My missus works for VW over here and she had 4 day training course in Denver which included her throwing American footballs in the Broncos stadium.
I wasn’t allowed in with her , so played golf for 4 days on some fantastic courses.:claping hands:
Also saw UB40 play in a little dive in a right dodgy area of Denver. haha

It’s a cool ass place and loved exploring the Rocky mountains.

Seattle is fantastic I have been there three times, San Fran is also a great place but hated Chicago it's drab.

The least enjoyable place I have been to is Hong Kong or Wolverhampton!

Yep, I've done San Francisco also, really enjoyed the area.
One of my favourite memories of SF was being in the city about 6am and there was this huge home where the garden literally went 30 ft up from the sidewalk\road (god knows how they mowed it) and it was actually foggy so you could only just see the top.
At the top was a scotsman (i persumed) in all his kit and he walking back and forth at the front of this home playing the bagpipes and the sound echoing around the area was both eerie and incredible at the same time (got goose bumps writing this). I must of stood there looking up for about 30 minutes just mesmerized!

Another fantastic place.

Have taken kids out of school for first two weeks of next month and we are all going to Cornwall and visiting family near Newquay. Then I have 4 shifts to do in the month afterwards so will be taking the kids away without the wife. No idea where we will be going. Might just stay in the country. Hopefully the 13 year old will not be visiting her big sister. Have a motorhome so will follow where we are playing as long as I have her to look after the little ones whilst watching the game I like to show the kids culture. So we have Luton, Cambridge, Oxford and most probably Nuneaton so far :thinking about:
