Maybe he'd settle for a deluxe paste table.

As I said on the thread "Have we been closed down then?"....people interpreted TM's comments about the scouting system and lack of data base as a swipe at SP. But it wasn't, it was criticising the people running the club for not having proper structures in place.

Can't see anything in the article that matches the headline? Looks like he was asked the question about the club matching ambitions rather than saying "They had better do what I say else I'm off" as the headline makes out.

Have they confirmed that Pressley has settled for a deal yet?

It makes sense to tell them what he wants to move the club on.
If he feels like he is wasting his time here then I don't blame him.

Pathetic Telegraph attempt to sell newspapers on what is normally a quiet Bank Holiday Monday. We need to see these last 6 games out, get the points needed to stay in this division and then focus on when, if and how Tony Mowbray is supported. As for a scouting system Waggott can set up what he likes but it will be TM who finalises any scouting system surely.

The headline could also have been:
"Mowbray confident about club's future"

Oh fuck off Grendel, go and eat an easter egg or something. Is this question going to pop up on the match thread too? If you're that bothered just keep phoning the telegraph.

It's not a bad article, but the headline is completely off with the rest of the story. He states that he's not the kind of guy to hold a gun to peoples heads but the headline is exactly that.

Shock horror, the telegraph seems to be the only paper in the world that uses sensational headlines to sell papers. BURN THEM!!

All we need now is a 100 page thread started by 'someone' asking if he really said it.

SHOCK HORROR.

The Gentleman won't let a bad word be said about anybody other than SISU but nowhere to be seen in the match thread (or the past 5 or 6 either).

I think the article is good and I think Mowbray is stating his terms of employment. Well done. But I won't be on the Match thread as it is my daughter's birthday. Sorry about that. Do my views still count? I will be at the Colchester game though. Hope that is ok with you. Dös following the Match on the Wall or on BBC live text count?

Fair play to you for going to the game. Look forward to seeing your thoughts about it.

My point is how people are on here a fair bit talking about SISU/ ACL etc but nowhere to be seen when it comes down to the football side of it, I am not talking about people just being on here at the time of the game, but discussing the game before or after etc. Can you see my point?

I think you are wrong here. He has got to set the ball rolling now and see how far TF will go. At the end of the season he can evaluate the progress on his demands and either stay or go. It is not holding a gun, but stating his terms. He is not asking for anything unreasonable - if he stays or goes, CCFC still need a professional set up and that is not dependant on 6 games this season. Some people criticise CT for posting negative stories, but the fact that an experienced manager is putting forward a plan for the future should imply stability and boost the fans morale. If the CT sells a few more papers then good for them. The report knocks another hole in the current conspiracy theories...

It actually supports the theory 100% - Mowbray must have said this several days ago and they've stored it up for today.

To be fair, the only reason it annoys me with the Coventry Telegraph is because they proclaim themselves to be 'one of us' and say we are 'in it together' when it suits them. False headlines and strategically timed 'articles' that don't help the club don't sit well with me due to this. As for other papers, they can fill their boots.

Anyone who posts links from now on from the CET should be named, shamed, shot and made to sit in the Telegraph stand.

i can see your point, but in my case I am mostly here in Germany and the games are seldom shown or streamed. I read about the games and read the discussions, but cannot say much apart from, hooray a goal, as I am only getting second hand reporting. In the case of games, I am relying on people like yourself. When you say Pressley made bad substitutions and he should go, I tend to agree because that is the overall view on the threads - but I won't come on and say you are wrong as I haven't seen for myself. I went to Northampton - not to put money in the owner's pockets - but to make my own judgement. I try to read as much about the stadium saga because then I am at the same information level as yourselves. There I can take part in discussions.

So you say this report is put out to destabilise the club and demoralise the fans? I find it optimistic. TM is putting forward sensible suggestions, which if matched will help the club whether he stays or goes. The timing doesn't bother me at all. It had to come round about this point so as to give TF and SW time to react. The CT is supposed to sell papers and it has to pay people to give us this info - even if a few days old. It could be worse, we may have to rely on award winning journalists from a free paper for our information - then it really would be old hat.

I'm really glad Tony has come out and declared some ambition. It puts the ball in the court of the owners to support him. Pressley was just another SISU sycophant and was getting used to second best and making excuses for it !

He seems hopeful, so hopefully something positive happens. I'm liking Mowbray more and more. Staying up is so vital.

Grow up Nick. Not that I have to explain myself to you or anybody else for that matter, I do feel that I am allowed to defend myself (hence my reply). I've started up a business recently and am busy a lot, sometimes 6/7 days a week so forgive me for not posting when and on what threads you would like. I work away a lot now too so don't get to come on this wonderful forum every day like some on here (some need to get a life and look at other things as life don't revolve around CCFC) so only drop in from time to time or when I can be bothered. Those who know me know how much CCFC mean to me, you don't (your loss) so I wouldn't expect any different from your reply above. Finally, I'll post on what I want, unless of course you chosse differently.

Lastly, there has been lots said on here against people other than Sisu when I haven't said boo. Do I really have to say again that I do hold all parties to blame, just that I hold Sisu/Otium the most to account. Weirdly though you pull me on it but not the ones who say things the other way round :thinking about:

Don't you think it's a little naive to think that when someone say's "we are one of you" that they are doing for real?

Or do you trust politicians, bankers, football club owners, local newspapers and managers who will all tell you they are "one of you" or "they only do it for you"? I couldn't give a shit what the telegraph say or don't say, it won't sway me into buying a paper, believing they are the same as me or on my side.
