what little confidence there was is now shattered

a lightweight threadbare squad with no natural finisher

3 17 year olds and an 18 year old tonight

desperate times

good luck Andy but without investment we will be down by xmas

Love the team. Love the manager. Love what's he's trying to do. Proud of the kids tonight.

Hate the lack of investment. Just worried now that by the time SISU do give AT 2p to spend, the points gap between us and the teams above will be too great.

It's very early days guys. Pompey never got a win for 8 games last season! They were bankrupt and in admin. Did they go down?

Did they field a team of 3 17 year olds and an 18 year old? They still had a number of Premiership players in their team from what I recall.

its hard on the kids in the team they are being expected to carry the team and its not fair on them to be doing this. They are doing there best but any more results like this will destroy them and i dont think there is a chance to take them out of the firing line as we have nobody to replace them!!

Exactly my point. You can't expect a bunch of kids to carry the team and win games for us.

This isn't "When Saturday Comes" or "Roy of the Rovers." This is the harsh reality of professional football.

No players in = cast iron, nailed on, certain relegation.

as much as i dont like the thought of relegation i have to agree with you otis unless we get some older heads in to see the games and help the kids out we are well and truly screwed and relegation it will be. So unless we can :blue: and get some finaces and players we are fecked !

I was at work this morning...watching the live texts of the game on the bbc website.
When we were 1-0 up with minutes to go i knew, just fookin knew, that palace we going to equalise. When the 2nd goal went in it was painful....fookin painful.Long day at work after that kick in the nuts

Absolute classic signs of a doomed team.

It really was a sickening blow, the lads deserved something out of that. A lot of the individual 1v1s were literally men against boys but our lads more than held their own. Was very proud of the team tonight.

Four games without a clean sheet. Although it looks like the defence has played pretty well most of the time, it's obvious we will let goals in. Shame we have no way to offset this by scoring goals. One bundled goal in 3 league games shows we are not capable.
Leaky defence, ineffective attack, no depth in squad, critical positions not filled, progressive lack of belief, too much reliance on acedemy lads (sure, they will try their best but experience is required in our position), never anyone on the bench who can change a game etc.
Now I know we have no money, but weren't we prepared to offer MK £15k week or was this smoke and mirrors? If true, then we could surely pull in a couple of decent loanees.
As for AT - a decent man, we all wish him well, but look at the tools at his disposal. Can't believe he was willing to extend contracts of Bell and McSh - he could have much better used their wages elsewhere. At the moment he is being loyal to his employer, but there will come a time when he will speak his mind and be gone.

SISU may have saved us from admin 3 years ago, but have sentenced us to a long, painful, cancerous existance. If an owner is not prepared to properly fund his investment, then they must sell or liquidate..... whichever - DO IT NOW!!!!!

Rant over - sorry!!!!

At what level do you think this current squad would be successful?
Div 1 or 2 maybe? At the moment I think they could be title contenders in the 'Northants Junior League' U13'
You can't blame the players. Sack the board!
