I will never ever, ever , get over the damning remarks made by Craig Bellamy on ITV on that Saturday football programme which I was half paying attention to to before he made my blood boil , launching into a scathing attack on my club. I have never ever heard such a blatant, cowardly attack on a club by an ex-player from any team about any club, and never hated an ex Coventry player as much in my life.

....so it was in stark contrast prior to the Gillingham game when I read the remarks by Carl Baker who has such a respect for his now ex club, the supporters, the manager and his profession. What an excellent role model this guy is - never blessed as the most gifted player but an absolute gent who has always conducted himself impeccably. The remarks he made were quite moving for me and both of my grown up daughters said what a wonderful accolade it was, and what a super bloke he really is.

I know this has probably all been said before a few weeks ago but I needed to say a personal thank you to Carl and wish him well in whatever he does in the future.

I think he wanted to say a personal thank you publicly, which seems perfectly OK to me.

But he is right though. Carl Baker really is just about the nicest fotballer I have ever met.

Better than saying a public thanks on a private forum.

That would be even more pointless.

Not so. Bobby Charlton was a nice bloke who won everything: League, FA Cup, European Cup, World Cup. I think he got one yellow card in his entire illustrious career and was never sent off. Liked by everyone, feared by everyone.

Well that's just great !!

After 13 years of anger management and theropy , due to the absolutely outrageous and cutting remarks made by Craig ... The self harm .. The punching of puppies ... Spitting at babies and general compultion to throw myself under old ladies shopping carts, I thought I had finally put it to bed ... Moved on And got on with my life ...

But then I read this thread

And It's all come flooding back !!

You bastard !! Why Craig ?? WWHHYYY ?????

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo

Right, where's the nearest puppy !!!!

He said everything was rubbish, and that he was bullied by other players.

He did say our away support was 'exceptional', just about the only positive thing he said.

Noel Whelan I remember did a newspaper interview when he was a player at Middlesbough when he slated the club too, but that one seems to be forgotten.

Never been bothered by this sort of thing though.

He throws his hat in the ring for the managers position every season so he must still love us just a little bit!

Noel was different though, Bellamy meant it after all he did slate Newcastle as well when they sold him to us .

Noel was gutted as he loved it here and wanted to stay just said it in anger.

Aren't at least one of Carls sons in the academy?
I know they both support the city so he well may read these boards.

Jesus Christ if you fell into a barrel full of tits, you'd still come out sucking your thumb.

You're right about it being a public forum, hence why he can post what he likes!

Anyway #pusb

hmmm. that phrase normally implies that someone is unlucky ?

If i fell into a barrel of tits, i would be confused about why someone has collected tits and put them in a barrell big enough for a 13st stone bloke to fall into. I prob wouldnt be sucking my thumb, more dazed and confused as to what has just happened.
