Hi folks, although being a season ticket holder since the Ricoh opened, I have never parked at Tesco, can anyone confirm that you can park for free, thanks

Not for free. I think you has to spend so much in one of the stores and put your receipt in your window or something like that

I've posted this before somewhere.

It's something like 2 hours for free, or if longer then you need to have spent at least £25 at any of the shops. There are stewards on the entrance and exit that ask what you are parking for 'Football or shopping?' to which I always say both. Sometimes on exit the stewards aren't even there but sometimes they are there to stop you and check your receipts. I usually buy a rotten Tesco jumper for £25 then get a refund the next time I park there and then buy it again on the way out if the stewards are there

Yeah it's 25quid in any of the shops. I've purchased petrol usually that's the best bet and just show your receipt.

I have a sneaky feeling there won't be any stewards this year, there wasn't any on Tuesday.

Thanks for the jumper tip.

I've always parked there without purchasing anything. The stewards are only there for about 15 mins after the game so just wait until they've gone! Never had a problem.

If they are there on the gate when you enter, they ask you what you're here for. Just say both shopping and football and they are fine with it.

I would not park there for that long, it has cameras that take a photo when you go in and out and if its the same time as footy starts and ends you get a ticket, I have a mate the went shopping the same time as a game he got a ticket two weeks later and had to go to court with his recipt to have the ticket cancelled just thought I would let you know.

Well he should have ignored it they have no right in law to ask you who the driver was .. Just ignore all the letters and they will go away I have had countless so called fines from Luton airport and numerous motorway service stations and have never paid one or even replied to one

I think they have a similar system at central 6. Aslong as you make no form of contact with the company, they will have no record of tracking you and they could never chase you for the 'fine'. It would be far too expensive for them to apply to the DVLA for every individual's details.

I've parked there every home game since we moved to the Ricoh! Only a handful of times have I spent £25. I normally say I've been to the cash point....how can they prove I haven't? They've pretended to take my number plate shit loads of times, nothing has ever happened. They just try and scare people.

Just park there, worst that happens is they send you a 'fine' in the post (from tesco's). Just ignore it. If you have a ticket issued from the council then it needs either paying or need to appeal it (within the 2 mile inclusion zone). Otherwise just tell them to piss off.

Just a quick reply and thanks for your replies. I parked today without any problems, no spend in Tesco just parked and walked to the ground, no checks from security on way in or out.

Where the lay-by is just before the Richo always presumed it was exempt as it comes under nuneaton and Bedworth council not Coventry never had a ticket there before but they are proper council signs not a private company

Ohhh the one by Makro? I think the parking ban covers Nuneaton and Bedworth too as it goes into Ash Green.
