Must have been a chance of a transfer after the occurance of that French trip with a teacher?

He did. As I keep saying, he was at Woodway when I was at Woodway.

That's what I was thinking, Wingy. I wonder if he was moved to Woodway Park after the incident.

Possibly, the original Sidney Stringer school opened in 1971 it replaced Priory High where the bus depot is now. That would make him 12/13 so your reference to that incident is possibly correct.

And I think he lived in Potters Green as a kid and went to the primary school there.

It does, bit of a mystery but after his kidnap ordeal he most likely moved schools, perhaps more than once and he stopped going to school at all at 14/15.

nice gesture to see the traffic signs above the ring road this morning flashing up terry halls name on it and 'too much too young'. Must be the only thing the city council has got right in a decade?

Lynval was stabbed in the chest. I have seen the scar. When it was in the Telegraph he was in hospital, his house was robbed..Cov hey. After that he got the scariest dog you have ever seen in your life that could jump about 8 foot from a standing start.

I was in the Ambulance service and was at Cov & Warwick that night. It was a shock seeing him there covered in blood, memories a bit dim now but I thought it was his throat cut too

Maybe he had his chest cut at one school and his throat slit at another.

Yes, definitely the same Terry Hall, unless Terry Hall had an identical twin brother, who was also called Terry Hall and they went to different schools.

Unless of course I am getting confused and the bloke's name was Terry and I met him in a hall.

When I said chest it was up at the top. Scar didn't look too bad and was quite small as if it had been a direct stab and not a slash. Lynval didn't like to talk about it.

Terry hall said on cwr, he lived around swan Lane, went to sidney stringer. Lynval Golding lived around ball hill. They would walk home together with friends after doing gigs at mr gs, during the early days of the coventry automatics/ The specials

Sorry Tezza, was planning to wear my two tone top in tribute tonight but it seems to have magically shrunk in the last three years, particularly around the gut area.

There should be special service for Terry Hall at the coventry cathedral. Terry hall and the specials is so important to coventry. The specials gave me such a pride in my city, I stopped support Leeds United, began supporting every team that representing coventry

So, he either left Woodway to go to Sidney Stringer, or left Sidney Stringer to go to Woodway.

Don’t know about the other schools but he was definitely at Woodway sometime. I ran a football team around the time the Specials burst on the scene and some of our players went to that school and were boasting the fact he was ex-Woodway.

Shite TBH. Wasn’t really announced, music was too quiet and just an image on the screen really (see the club Twitter). I’d hoped for a bit more. Didn’t see a single two tone kit either if I’m honest.

Dreadful and very disappointing. No minutes applause and what was flashed up was so low in volume it was frustrating to watch. The sound system is shot to bits and needs upgrading.

I didn’t think there was much of an effort if I’m honest. I know it’s only 48 hours since Terry halls passing but I think we could have done a bit better personally.

I remember going to the Dog and Trumpet on Wednesday nights late 70's early 80's . A band would come on about 10 ish , very impromptu and sometimes compared by John Cooper Clarke. It was usually anyone on 2tone who was recording at Horizon Studio. I saw Madness, The Beat and Selector and then turn up for work at Rolls Royce the next day very bleary-eyed. I'd share some pics but the Nokia hadn't been invented (come to think of it it didn't have a camera)
