Can come from us gaining points or Ipswich dropping points so:

Sat 11th April
City v Sheffield Wed
Norwich v Ipswich

(Min 4 points to title if both go our way - 7 if we both win)

Tuesday 14th April
Portsmouth v Ipswich

(Min 1 point to title)

Friday 17th April
Blackburn v City

(Earliest we could win title)

Sun 19th April
Ipswich v Boro

Tuesday 21st April
City v Portsmouth

Wednesday 22nd April
Charlton v Ipswich

Saturday 25th April
WBA v Ipswich

Sunday 26th April
City v Wrexham

When do you reckon we win it?

Pompey at home for me.

Good breakdown, looking at that, Pompey at home seems a good shout.

It really depends on whether or not the other 3 play like top 6 sides, or the Chuckle Brothers.

When do they present the Trophy? Is it as soon as it is won (wherever that may be) or the last home game for the winners?

Portsmouth at home looks most likely. If we both win all of our games to that point then, whilst mathematically it wouldn’t be done, we’d be in a position where Ipswich had to win all of their remaining games and we lose our two. I fancy Ipswich to drop points at Norwich and Southampton at least.

This is my thought. Ipswich draw at Norwich and we win the next three and we’re mathematically champions.

Honestly can see Boro finding their bollocks and doing them for a draw.
Norwich can be a right party pooper side, and if they start falling down to kill momentum like they do, they could hold them to a point, Norwich would LOVE to do them.
Southampton could grab all the points off them also.
Add in all the games in hand in the short space and Ipswich's run in looks tough

Fun fact: we've created more unique threads discussing end of season permutations of points and games than we have scored goals all season.

Norwich could easily beat Ipswich especially considering they are at home.

Say from those 3 Ipswich get a win, draw and a loss, that would be 5 points dropped, and mean 5 for the title.

Thats a win against Wednesday and 2 draws, or 1 extra win.

Blackburn for promotion, Pompey for the title. I can’t see Millwall and Boro both dropping points this weekend.

But if we win along with Boro and Millwall, unless they win with an average of about +5 goals they can’t catch us anyway

Yes. The two are separate points. If we both won all our games then we can’t technically win the league v Pompey, but I think Norwich will take at least a point off them hence why I think we’ll do it v Pompey.

Correct but it is still possible regardless of how acheivable

They also play 3 times before we play Pompey whereas we only play twice

So unless they catch us they can’t catch us. We aren’t likely to lose all our games and then win them anyway but over 5 games a 22 goal difference is under 5 goals a game so a 2-0 loss and a 3-0 win which is hardly unachievable.

I’m still an idiot who can’t accept this fully until it’s done.

So on that note, let’s just beat Wednesday, and get a draw, after that title here we come

No team has been as far as we’ve been in front and not been promoted….. we’ve lost 7 in 40 games. We have to play bottom and 4th bottom at home.

under our current manager only 4 teams have ever beaten us at home in all comps they would all be parachute payment teams, Leeds, Burnley, Ipswich (2), Southampton.

The team we are playing on saturday has -6 points. 1 win all season, our goal difference is at least 21 goals different from 2 of the 3 teams that can mathematically catch us

its done, not even we can balls up from here

I just hope we get promoted ‘on the pitch’ though I fear we’ll beat Sheff Wed and then Boro will draw to Portsmouth to send us up.

Cant see Millwall not beating West Brom TBH of Boro not beating Pompey. Think we go up at Blackburn on the pitch.

2bf - West Brom have picked up under James Morrison. Like you I expect Millwall to win but it’s not a given anymore
