He's rejected the deal as wants to play in Championship. Very grateful and complimentary to us. Telegraph says could have a bearing on Keogh signing an extension. Fleck deal all but complete but club seeking assurances from lawyers that we will not have to pay fee further down the line. This because new owner threatened buying clubs saying players are in breech of contract and will go to court to get market transfer fee for them.

Hopefully though, the 10 pieces of bad news will be that David Bell is going to feature in the first 10 games of the season.

No chance Otis.He will get injured pre season only to make a comeback in February with Thorn trotting out the usual"it's like having a new signing" without signing anyone in January for our efforts to avoid relegation to league 2.

Another "Sideways Sammy".....Remember, he jumped ship from Norwich when they were relegated. Then did the same to us. De-ja vue methinks!

I liked cranie but really believe a fit wood is far more important in this league

There's a possibility Cranie may have struggled in league 1 with the more physical nature.
He's on about 6ft for a Centre back...? He'd be playing against 6'2+ strikers.

Did anyone expect to keep him? Ah well!!

I can't believe that his decision to lead will effect Keogh's decision. He's a big boy and more than capable of making it on his own! I'm sure he has more than one mate here!

Shame about Cranie, always gave 100% but Wood is probably more suited to this level, I think Cameron will also do well in Div 1, we must remember how young he still is.

more wages for an attacking midfielder or striker!!!

i'd be surprised if the club let McPake go knowing Cranie was out of contract and without any sort of guarantee from Keogh that he will stay. If Keogh and Cranie were both to leave, McPake and Wood would of been in the starting line up i reckon.

I thought McPake had actually left?

Not surprised to be honest. Cranie did say a while back that he probably will go if we were relegated.
And with McPake, he wanted to go back to Scotland so why try and keep a player who doesn't want to wear the shirt. BUT i still don't understand why we didn't get even a small fee for him.

he has, what i meant was would the club of let McPake go, knowing that Cranie was likely to leave and Keogh was still deciding? Losing 3 centre backs would be a hell of a risk. But if they had a guarantee from Keogh that he was staying it would make more sense to let McPake and Cranie to go to free up wages for other positions we need more.

i thought Hibs had already offered £100k for him, then they announce he's gone for free. Surely anything is better than nothing!!!

Not a big surprise he's a decent champ defender, my problem is with the fleck deal saying its all but done. Just get it done before someone nicks him off us even if they to pay a tribunal surely its worth it in his resale value

disappointing and i am not surprised at all. I can not blame him for wanting to play at a higher standard, with all that entails, I wish him well

Probably to save us paying him a loyalty bonus, agents fees and the % sell on clause to Livingstone. I bet we wouldn't have got much change from £100k after paying that, plus most fees are paid in installments now anyway.

I fully expected Keogh, Cranie and Bigi to go............maybe not McPake { but he could breakdown anytime with his track record}
Wood, also injury prone is vital now, I wouldn't fancy pitching in kids at this level though at centre back.

No one can be surprised by this. I would do the same thing in his situation. Rumours he is off to Southampton, so its a great move for him.

well we have got a new striker yes he isn't banging in the goals but he seems experienced and wants to play for us and that's all i ask for, some players never look like they actually want to wear the cov shirt , so im happy at the moment , if we can get a CM , and replacement for cranie , kilbane and fleck we could be challenging top 10

How the mighty have fallen - we're such an optimistic bunch! ... although I find it difficult to argue with your statement

im sorry and i really do understand pessimism but a new cb,kilbane and fleck has us top 6 minimum imo

we have to remember that this same team competed in nearly every match and were beaten by odd goal,we gotta beleive we will be the ones scoring more in league one...cant see 9 teams being betetr than us if things go to plan in transfer market.

conspiracy theory much?

hes still looking for a new club now, he probably knew he was leaving but would have been silly to give a final answer in june.
