Yep Nick and Dave criticise the CET for spinning against the club. Dave takes a CET article that is clearly quite balanced and spins it based on one line to be an anti club article. Nick agrees with him and round the irony wheel spins.

That when you go to watch CCFC you get ripped off when it comes to food and drink. I know what they are implying and agree.
The reasons why are then in the article when you read it.

Pretty much praised the club for ticket prices.
Pointed out that we are expensive for t shirts and matchday programs.

The biggest threat to ccfc is the presence of wasps in the City.

The CT are their press mouthpiece and rolled the red carpet out. The trust doffed their caps in collective admiration.

Neither strategy can be applauded and means some of the blame game sticks with them.

Exactly, that's what he took away from it.

I looked at the BBC and made my own mind up and saw even shirts are the same as a fair few teams.

The same as on another thread saying we were the most expensive for shirts

Good one in there today. Every club in League One apart from Fleetwood charge £3 for a programme. In the CT article this becomes 'City also top the League One charts for the most expensive programmes'.

Wasn't trying to make a big deal out of it but it stood out to me. And you've just proved exactly the point you're arguing against with this:
dongonzalos said:

Of the 24 teams in League 1 23, including us, charge £3 for a programme. Fleetwood are a bit of anomaly as they are pushing electronic programs which get sent to everyone on their database free of charge, its also a much smaller programme than others and partly written by fans contributing copy for free.

In League 2 there's only 2 teams that charge less than £3 and one team charges more. There's 15 conference sides who charge £3. Every team in the Championship and PL (except Southampton) charge either £3 or £3.50.

But as you and the CT say our programmes are expensive.

Hi guys! Can't say I've read much of this thread or the article in the Telegraph, but I just needed to say* that this might be the straw that broke the camel's back!!! It's shocking that we charge so much for food and drink and to have the most expensive programme makes me literally** sick!

*Type
**Not actually literally, but more like when you say something makes you literally sick so as to highlight to others how shocking you find it!

I can't argue with they looked at the BBC tool and got it wrong.
However they were not spinning it to attack the club, otherwise why bother mentioning that the expensive catering is nothing to do with the club. Then go one step further pointing out that the club only get 15% of it.
Why point out that the likes of Southend are far more expensive in season tickets.
You see all that but highlight one line that they got wrong about matchday programs and posted it in a "CET spin" thread as another good example.
I hope you can see my point

Of course I do and did right from the beginning. On the BBC tool that the CET were quoting they are down as expensive. As Dave pointed out they are the same as 95% of the league.
However Dave pointed this out as another good example of the CET spinning against the club. To which you agreed suggesting they are taking the chance to kick the club.
Totally ignoring most of the article which isn't kicking the club at all.
Then you have a pop at people saying they will only read the bit they want to read.
Which is exactly what you and Dave are doing

i know we are not.
The spinning bit is highlighting the bit they got wrong. Which with the t shirts was the only negative bits directed towards the club.
The program which they got wrong and the t shirts.
The spinning is ignoring that they stick up for the club on food drinks and ticket prices

Didn't they? No one started chanting SISU out when we were relegated from the championship? No one was complaining when we were took to Northampton on a whim? We've not had any marches or petitions until recently? I think you're very wrong on that score. This has been going on for years. Some good football might have papered over some cracks temporarily last season before reality came crashing back down but lets not pretend that no one has been complaining.

so you think the way to put our owners under pressure is to spin articles about the price of pies and shirts to an ever dwindling readership who would happily believe anything the CET says about sisu?

You really are deluded if you don't realise that the biggest threat to the club is it owners. No one else is franchising out all the revenue streams that are so important, selling of the training ground, continually trying to bluff a new ground story regardless of how much more ridiculous it gets with every new version of what they're doing. They aren't doing anything to better this club, to busy blaming everyone else while playing the victim. It would be like blaming Mercedes if JLR were in the shit. It's nonsense.

It is spinning it isn't it? It isn't correct.

They aren't expensive, they are the same as every team in the league bar 1 who do things differently.

I have read all of it, I have pointed out things that are incorrect and spin. You have also quoted them as expensive, when it isn't the case is it?

Have a look at the "away fans pay a quid less" article to whip up a storm, nothing mentioned about the car park fiascos though?

It's spinning to suggest it's evidence of spinning against the club. When they got one line wrong, in an article that on the whole is supportive of the club. The BBC tool that they quoted has it wrong. So I would assume they just quoted that.
As oppose to thinking hey the BBC have screwed up here. However this is an opportunity to make the club look bad by quoting the wrong info.

TBF programmes are pretty much obsolete with all the other content around.
We know don't gamble any finance on income from them, which is sure to dwindle even further as crowds drop off.
Under the current regime I'd expect them to be extinct in a season or two.
The number crunchers at the printers might have a decision to make in the summer.
On cost the last time the went up must have been 5-6 yrs ago and I'm not sure that they weren't more expensive at some point, clearly the CT are wrong saying they're more expensive than elsewhere.

Apologies. Point stands though. He stated that no one was complaining before. They clearly were. The CT petition isn't the first petition centred around SISU's ownership and their ability to run the club. The march recently organised is also the third march that I know of again centred around how the club is run. Then there was the legends game that was used as a protest. Then there's the countless organised protest's holding things up in the ground, there's the organised protest that happened at the Arsenal game, there's been protest's outside SISU HQ. People have been complaining, loudly and for a long time.
