Possibly. He just looked a little uncomfortable with whatever was being conveyed. I wouldn't want to see 3ATB unless injuries dictated it. I think it would hinder Grimes' role.

Yeah definitely not - unfortunately if Torp/Eccles are out we may have to

I’d argue last night wasn’t a great representation of what our 3ATB would actually look like as we were defending a lead. MvE/JDS would be a lot higher typically

I dont think the back 3 looked comfortable last night. I get that it was just to see the game out but it looked clunky to me, with no space for Grimes to drop in and dictate. I noticed Thomas's expression when Wolfenden came on and told him the set-up was almost like "WTF?"

Yeah it didn't work very well, they were getting in better positions than they had all night

If Torp is out it's a swap for Jamie Allen imo, no need to change system at this point.

If EMC is capable of 60 mins then put him on the left and Asante in the 10

Rather than posting silly GIF's perhaps answer the question considering Lampard has said hes injured

I doubt EMC will be risked unless we need a late goal.

I think it will be same lineup other than Allen for Torp, the only other starting change I see likely is KKH for Sakamoto.

We need to get Rudi & Torp back for the first game the international break though.

Ooh someone's prickly this morning .
We still have options
A midfield three of Grimes 6 , Allen 8 and Andrews 10 isn't ideal but isn't the end of the world against one of the weaker squads in the division.
We could also go 5-4-1 or 5-2-3 with Woolfy coming in and EMC returning

Not really prickly, just trying to get you to discuss rather than add nothing.

Allen and Andrews against Bannan would not be great to be honest, he would school them. Poeple are underestimating Sheff Wed

Not really. They have had some good results and performances this year considering the state they are in.

People suggesting BTA in the 10 is laughable. He is like a dog chasing a ball. He does not have the tehcnical ability to play in the tight space like Eccles and Rudoni have.

I would keep BTA where he's been effective .
Ideally we wouldn't start Andrews just yet so would be happy to see a formation change as long as it didn't impact too much on Grimes ability to dictate play

The real concern is if Allen or Andrews in that scenario are flagging what do we do to replace them? Its all very confusing.

Go on then what’s the alternative if Eccles, EMC and Torp are out

Depends on the game situation at the time
Also Grimes and Allen are both incredibly fit players so could easily play the full 90 if needed

You either play as we finished with 2 of Allen and Grimes

Or you are forced to play Andrews, Allen and Grimes in a 3.

He's an international player who has huge potential , they have to start somewhere and at some point in his career .

The fact that you don't like any of the options we have in case of injury doesn't make people stupid for suggesting them lol

It's not really. Most agreed in the window we should be loaning out Andrews and replacing Jamie Allen.

Now they are likely to be starting in Midfield 8 games into the season. Its poor.

It was only the same old divs who claim Jamie Allen isn't a Championship player who said he should be moved on. They are clueless.

You use the " most of us agreed" argument a lot on here . It doesn't mean anything or make a point more valid .
Lampard obviously sees the value in retaining Allen and sees enough in Andrews to keep him in the first team squad , perhaps most of you should take it up with him

Think it’ll be Woolfenden and a formation change over Andrews. Lampard has not played Andrews in the league unless a game has been settled so I doubt he’ll start him

If we play Allen & Andrews it’ll be the same midfield that got overrun by Millwall’s second team in the league cup
