That breaks the JPT selection rules I believe

I suggested this in another thread
--------Allsop
Phillips--Willis--Webster--Haynes
JOB----Finch---Fleck---Coulibaly/youth player? Maybe one of the Kelly Evan twins
-------Maddison--Jackson

I reckon I can get about 20 of them in my car. Who's going to buy the rest?

Course not. Losing to Plymouth will only be half as bad.

If we win tomorrow... we have a semi final against either Gillingham, Leyton Orient or Bristol City.

At the moment that must seem like Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal or Liverpool.

Best case scenario would be Gillingham at home.

Then hope Leyton Orient beat Bristol City

Which means we will end up drawing Bristol away... assuming we manage to get through tomorrow (big if!!)

Am I right in thinking it's just the area final that's two legs, and not the semi?

Yes, think so. Believe that is correct.

Ahh yes, the Preston game was the semi, and the Crewe games were the final. Cheers chaps.

The Sheffield United game at this stage two years ago was also exciting. Great penalty shoot-out.

Allsop
phillips-Webster-willis-Haynes
o'brien-Daniels-Thomas-fleck
------Maddison- madine

Subs- Charles-cook, Kelly-Evansx2, coulibaly, finch, Jackson, Nouble (Thomas in for nouble If he isn't one of the players told to leave)
would bet that team would run themselves into the ground. I feel Daniels needs his chance now, he's a cov kid and if not anything else he puts himself about. Maybe save nouble for weekend as he looks knackered atm

It wouldn't really be a semi though, would it?

I reckon cook will get a start if he's called back, can't risk him in a league game but worth giving him a go in the jpt to see what standard he's at

Anyone know what the situation is about Burge's sending off in view of the JPT player selection rule?

The rule states that you have to include at least six players who started the previous game on your teamsheet, or at least six players out of 11 who have made the most starting appearances in league and cup matches this season.

But surely with Burge being sent off they would have to make allowance for that wouldn't they? Allsop played pretty much most of the match for us anyway.

Why?

Rules are rules (allegedly). You saying the rules should be bent because one of players broke another rule and got sent off? Considering city have already broke the rules once do you expect then the rules to be allowed to be broken again?

Cov could be kicked out on a technicality - is it worth the risk if by some miracle we get a result?

I would have thought so Otis. To be fair after that performance you could argue that making 8-9 changes is strengthening the team.

Thinking about it, it won't matter anyway will it, cos Allsop has been a regular for us this season and been number 1.
