Assuming Eccles and Torp are back, who do you start against Blackburn?

Hard to change a side that just won 0-5. Do you put Torp in for Allen and leave BTA in the 10 after that performance? Drop EMC and move BTA wide with Eccles in the 10 like we had vs Brum? Surely you can’t drop BTA right now.

I think we might se one of the front 4 drop out if Torp is back in.

I'm not sure what we played today was balanced enough for a half decent team

Think it’s going to be a frustrating game et al Norwich at home.

Ultimately i think we’ll get the job done but I can see Blackburn parking the bus and trying to slow the game down as much as possible.

Torp for Allen, but that's it. EMC will be match fit after another 2 weeks training, and you really cant drop BTA who has simply been a revelation so far this season.

We may not have the biggest squad, but there's some great talent in there.
We now have a great bench that gives lampard some real options.

You put torp back in for Allen. Keep bta behind the strikers if rudoni not back which sounds like he won't be.

Depends who is match fit. Torp was not at his best against Millwall as soon as he got injured.
Whomever is 100% fit gets the nod.
Also depends when Haji gets back from International duty.

If Haji is late are you saying Simms to start with BTA in the ten and EMC left wing or Eccles in the ten and BTA up top with EMC on the left still?

It's Blackburn and on form we should win. Allen done nothing to suggest he is dropped to the bench. But knowing how he is not always going to turn in a performance, then yes Torp is back in. Top managers make tough decisions. EMC will be fit out left, and Asante remains down the middle. Wright not back or gets injured, Simms deputises.

It's very simple to me. The players now get a deserved rest. We start the next game with our strongest 11 without any niggling injuries. Get everyone 100% fit for the November and December games that we can.

Football is a squad game. We're lucky to have players capable enough and ready to slot into the team whenever needed without sulking. No matter what anyone says players like Allen, Eccles and Bidwell are good replacements to have. They know they have to wait for injuries before it's their turn to get an extended run and claim a place. Even both of Woolfenden and KKH have said the same.

If Wright is 100% he plays. If he isn't then he gets rested.

We have goals right through this team. We're better off getting our best players ready for the more difficult games coming up than risking them in the easier games.

Torp and Eccles back in if fit, BTA has to play atm so either for EMC or Saka. Yesterday we bypassed the midfield a lot and hit the front quick and it worked brilliantly because of the opposition but I think he'll go back to his more generic looking midfield as soon as possible.

I can see Torp in for Allen as he is a better all round player, not sure Eccles would come in for EMC or Saka esp for Blackburn at home though?

It's the same as the Birmingham line up and Millwall from memory. BTA goes to one of the wide forward positions and Torp and Eccles come in for Allen and, let's say, EMC.

Could happen as Frank does like that formation when possible. I suspect much will depend on the fitness of Haji.

How pointless & premature is this post, it's 2 weeks before this game is to be played.
Haji Wright, Kai Andrews & Joel Latibeaudiere have all received international call ups.
Frank Lampard won't have a clue at the moment.

I'm worried Thomas Tuchel is watching our game over breakfast and calls up Jamie Allen, if Elliot Anderson pulls out.

Just thought the same after looking at fixtures. Especially with Pompey on Tuesday.

Ellis has looked so much better, could have had hatrick yesterday alone.

Didn’t realise it was this close cut. What about Dasilva? Yeah he’s only coming back from Cardiff but in relative terms it’s about the same distance for someone his size

Fair shout.

Will depend I suspect on how many minutes he gets …. He will be flying business class and can sleep all the way back if he chooses …

I'm not sure I quite agree to be honest. Simms has had some encouraging performances that have indicated improvement, but he's still vastly behind Wright. I think in all the euphoria at the moment we have seen some fans perhaps exaggerating his performances. Saying he deserves a start is getting a bit carried away for me, and with the squad we have I think the bench is about right.

I also don't know who you would drop for him to start anyway. If Wright is back 24/48 hours before the game then surely he starts. He's the leagues top scorer as it stands.

EMC didn't look sharp and he's not long been injured, and assuming Rudoni and Eccles aren't back:

Rushworth

MVE
Thomas
Kitching
Dasilva

Grimes
Allen
Torp

Sakamoto
Wright
Asante

Hopefully Eccles is fit enough for the bench. Him, EMC and Simms from the bench gives us options.

We have good options, with Asante able to take the main threat , IF Hadji isn’t 100% .
A sign of our new times , showed yesterday, with our 3rd goal ….. Thomas winning the header & 3 players ready to knock it in .
Great anticipation, from excellent deliveries into the box & at least one of our centre half’s winning the cross ……. You could go on & on ……..

Sounded like Eccles only just missed out so think he will be OK for Blackburn.

I'll go.

Mate, Hadji is unlikely to be anywhere near 100%, he stopped playing professional European football over 20 years ago.
