Tea or Coffee (2 Viewers)

I prefer a small cup of strong coffee with breakfast, and a large mug of tea in the afternoon with a couple of McVitie's digestives.

Mrs Scam and Ms Scamtastic will only drink tea.

Which drink do SBTers prefer and why?

Used to an avid tea drinker. Enjoyed a pot of Earl Grey at the weekends but during the week stuck to a well brewed pot of Twinings.

That all changed when I had a holiday in Australia (Melbourne) and discovered the delights of coffee. Came home, bought a coffee maker and enjoy a superb cup of coffee at least once a day. By coincidence have just returned from Melbourne yesterday and brought back some Mexican beans that i cannot wait to try.

Tea, but I am a water man myself.

Try to live a healthy lifestyle as much as I can and most of the time I only drink water or fruit juice.

Not very often I have coffee.

If there's no Jamesons left in the bottle from the night before then I'll revert back to Bells. I've also been known to start the day with a coffee now and again!

Fascinating replies - I do enjoy a good 'comparison' thread.

Seems to me the majority of us don't mind a nice cup of either tea or coffee.

Out of interest, last Christmas Scam Jnr gave us a Dolce Gusto coffee and drinks maker - mainly for various coffees but also chocolate and cold drinks. We don't use it every day so it's a bit of a treat when we have a latte macchiato (vanilla or caramel) or a cafe au lait.

Anyone else using these kinds of coffee makers?

Tea. Not a keen coffee drinker.

Wanted to try something new at Starbucks around Christmas time. Never again. Cant remember what I ordered but it was cack!

Do tend to have hot chocolate wen attending Starbucks or Costa (and places alike) though!

Mint hot chocolate was lovely from Costa but they only do that for Christmas!

Read on for boring fact...

Went to a presentation, given by a tea grower from Sri Lanka who was looking at the NZ market, in Christchurch. Discovered that there is so much to tea - the same variety of plant can give different flavours depending on soil type and altitude.

Drank loads of them when I was living in Chiang Mai but tried them again recently and found them too sweet.

...large bucket of strong Carte Noire. Now trying to decide on a Tassimo Beverage maker as Mrs Bantam likes tea and this machine, I believe, does both quite well.
