He won't, but the club did the same for Shipley where he was given a years contract and then immediately sold to Shrewsbury for a small fee

This is crushing news for my dad, who without fail will ask me at around the hour mark "Is Fabio on the bench?" I might just not tell him.

Contract is up at the end of the season, 24, he needed to go and play men's football, not just sit on the bench. I know they are bottom of the league but he could have done a lot worse.

Exeter, who are 17th and 8pts above Burton are looking like they are the team that will drop and fall out, 1pt in the last 6.

So your opinion on this is he'd never be offered a new contract? Even if he scored 150 goals over the next 3 months?

Hed probably be too busy to sign it after he's patented his cure for cancer.

Good manager in at that level at Burton, Gary Bowyer

He may well get them out of it

Good luck to him, perhaps the best way for him to get some game time and hopefully things work out for him, seems a nice lad.

2bf he was signed in league one, I don’t think we expected to go up. I don’t think he was ever signed to be a championship player

If you didn’t think we’d offer him a 1 year deal if he scored 15 before the end of the year to get some money for him in the summer you are extremely thick

He'll be fine - we found out midway through the FA Cup semi-final that we were stood behind some of his relatives behind the goal, and then when he came on and played like he did, I swear it was the happiest hour of his life.

Apologies. Was a year out. Bizarre signing in hindsight. A bit like when we signed Bosma,

suppose he’s hampered by constant injuries

I’m saying why would he sign it you mug

If he finally played some football and did well he’s not going straight back to the club that benched him for 4 years

As Tavares leaving means a registration spot opens up thought this would be good to note.

I remember I got a lot of grief, particularly from O’Day, for suggesting that Bassette was registered wrong, and taking up a squad space. Andy turner has just confirmed that’s the case and Bassette can be moved mid season to u21 place.

I don’t expect to get an apology though

That's all there is to it really. Not that much difference from Rodrigues etc, except Tavares took on this mythical quality for scoring so many goals for the reserves.

They should absolutely put up a statue of him outside the Alan Higgs Centre IMO
