Interested to what MR is thinking with Fabio. Some really good showings during the run in. Scored a couple when up top and created a fair few good chances. Had AWB on toast at Wembley...

Not sure if Borges-Rodriguez is gonna be ready for the first team?

Not sure when he is going to be fit tbh after the injury in the FA Cup semi final, but it was expected for him to go out on loan until January 2025.

He has to go out on loan.

Rapha will already be ahead of him.

For his development, into the very tidy forward he could be, I agree that it would benefit him greatly to go out on loan.

Has to be this season.

That ankle could become increasingly problematic though, as time goes on.

Don't see why. We've seen nothing of him so far so can't judge. I thought he had development squad signing written all over him when he joined, but I could be wrong.

Still would like to see him given a go at CF. He's not a winger, despite contributing well in that position at the end of the season.

6-month loan at L1, with the hope he scores 8-10 goals in that period & flog him in January to team up & around L1 promotion race, like Birmingham.

No I agree with you, he is here for development. But in my mind he'll be dipped in and out of the first team squad, when we need him. Being a natural wide player, I can see him being used ahead of Tavares in those position - for his development.

Unfortunately, barring a miracle pre-season, Tavares has no place in our first team team squad. If he does then our recruitment hasn't done enough.

Based on what I've seen of Tavares over the last 3 years and a 4 min Youtube compilation of Rapha.

This was definitely my stance but he’s shown glimpses of being able to positively impact games.
I think You’re probably correct but I wonder if he’s earned the right to have a little longer to prove this?

For the sake of his own long-term career he needs to actually play regular first team football.

He’s not a winger anyway.

Time’s up I think. We should try and convince someone to give us a few hundred grand for him.

Depends on his fitness. Either he is a back up striker or will go out on loan. Did look good as a sub before his injury.

I was right in front of that tackle, 2 defenders clattered him think anyone could have come out of that injured.

Yes, absolutely. However, I was highlighting that the ankle and surrounding tissue could become weakened, as I’m sure I read that the ankle injury is on the same foot that he ruptured the Achilles tendon.

Any inherent weakness there, it’d take less to aggravate or tear something. Hopefully it doesn’t, and his recovery is without recurrence.

We got him from Rochdale after he’d been there 3 years, why does he need to go back down on loan to get game time? He’s already served his time lower down, give him game time in the Champ surely he’s at the level now.

Because he hardly played for them. He’s 24 in January and never consistently played first team football.

In fairness he improved with game time last season and it’s possible the management team rate him and think he can come on further. If they see him as a squad player why would we loan him out. 5 subs and all that.

Can’t really take anything from friendly matches, I think he needs to leave for his own sake. He’ll never get regular minutes here.
