I'd say he was just as important from January onwards as Onyeka.

He deserves his chance in the PL

He'll be a very popular player among the neutrals if he can cook Prem full backs even half as well as Championship ones.

Shame but his injury is likely to keep him out now for the remaining games. FL confirmed.

Absolute star this season. Sets the standards, workrate and passion.

Been a critical cog in our promotion to the PL.

Hopefully nothing too serious and thankfully at a point in the season where its near impossible for us to fuck up promotion.

Having seen the performance last weekend if we still needed to get some wins this news would worry me!

No! - He’d get dropped.
He needs to be cocooned in bubble wrap and joining in with the promotion celebrations via video link from the comfort of his living room.

Hope this means we get to see Markelo in his normal role for a start or two. I'd rather our own player gets the chance than Esse who hasn't done enough for me. Really hope the Asante and Rudi swapping positions experiment doesn't get another go around.

Agree I’d like Noah to be starting now. He needs a run of games.

What a special player Sakamoto is.
He's been targeted for rough treatment more than ever this season, Hull and Southampton especially.
He'll be very closely marked in the PL but there will be much less of the bully boy nasty stuff.
I reckon he'll be a revelation, really looking forward to watching him turn top defenders inside out.

We have 4 fit wingers - EMC, Markelo, Esse and Minny, and we get suggestions or playing Milan or KKH on the wing.

Big shame, but a chance to give Markelo a proper run out. I'd play him over the loan players. chance to really give him some minutes.

Not that im advocating playing him there, but KKH has probably played more games there in the last 2 seasons than Minny.

I'd give Esse and Markelo a half each.

Coming as I do from Japan I have a real soft spot for Sakamoto, but actually it could work in our favour tomorrow with the 'Let's win it for Saka' motivation the players will be feeling. 2-1 to city

I thought Markelo looks like he has something about him, even in limited appearances. Reminds me a bit of Mason-Clark.
Esse I think will probably achieve his potential in a few seasons with another team.

Is Markelo left or right footed, or does he prefer to operate inverted?

Ok, just looking him up, looks like he can play either side, so give him a go, why not.

So both Saka & EMC play inverted.

Recall Simms scoring the other season and holding up his jersey when he did his back in.

For me we just need to get the title done as quickly as possible by fielding the strongest side we can.
THEN we go into party mode and give all our players who have been part of this season minutes. I would even give Wilson, Bidders, Allen minutes, they all deserve them and the opportunity for the fans to thanks them.
some won’t be here next year so they should all play a part.
Might be looked at as poor form by those teams still fighting for something…. But f*ck ‘em, let’s party!!!!
.. and no matter what let get Tats on at the 90th minute so he’s on the field when the season ends.

Nothing really to add that hasn't been said, but he has been a key player this season. Really set the standard of work ethic, which was one important component coming out of the slump we were in. If he can't play I hope Doug sends him on a well deserved all-inclusive beach holiday.
