Very pleased with the two signings we have made so far but I think we must sign a target man before the start of the season to cope with the physicality of the division. Was a fan of Clive Platt last year and feel we could do with another player of that manner, not to start but maybe to come off the bench in desperate situations as at the moment our front line is looking a little short! Any ideas for possible signings?
What happened to Parkin after we missed out on him?

We didn't miss out on Parkin, Cardiff tried to palm him on is as a makeweight for Turner. He wanted £9.5k per week, unless he's now willing to take a 1/3 of that he's a none starter.

Live it how fans judge players on their Football manager stats I do it too when researching a player so this isn't a dig at anyone!

I'm not sure who would be suited to being a target man. I'm more worried where goals are going to from as supposed to who is going to set them up.

Chris Porter 6 foot 1 out of contract with Sheff Utd only 28
Steve Howard out of contract with Leicester he is like 35 or something now though

Anyone else will probably require a fee or a loan deal

How about akinfenwa absolute beast. Also scored plenty of goals in his partnership with Cody Mcdonald at Gillingham

Shefki Kuqi can hold his own, just got released by Ipswich. He is a big man and although 35 could be a Platt-esque weapon

Agyemang went on loan to Stevenage and scored 1 in 15

Akinfenwa would certainly answer the question 'who would be the best partner for Cody?'

Agree. Akinfenwa would be a good choice as someone who can offer something different.

I'd imagine we'd make more chances for him than stevenage did aswell

Will take your word for it as never seen him play a whole match. Just know he is big and strong so would offer an alternative style.

Akinfenwa's goal scoring record pisses on any of our current players.

Sorry lads, from what I saw of Porter in the play offs, he looked dreadful.

Howard, despite his previous connections, would do a job for us...whether our playing budget stretches to buying him, I doubt.

He said hes mixing the tactics up didnt he? and making attacking signings. You think we'll make less chances than stevenage then?

Ok fair enough, I just mentioned him as he wasn't ancient like Adebola and Howard and had played for clubs at this level and higher an above.

Personally I wouldn't go for Howard, I would rather try and get someone on loan tbh

has anyone actually seen Akinfenwa, he's more wide than he is big (not saying he's short), he's hardly a great player at league 2- I wouldn't like him to join. I firstly would like to see more signinings before suggesting a target man, you never know we may be the new swansea
