Seeing as talk off a takeover (possible) is about investors, could we have another sisu scenario?

Now I know this would mean the end and see the back of sisu could we not find ourselves back in the same position a few years down the line?

Is Hoffman only bringing/introducing investors and then actually have no part of what happens once and if the takeover happens.

Not being a damp squib just looking into the possibilities of what could happen still want sisu out naturally.

On a side note could an investor be souness? he has wanted to get into football for years and if my fading memory serves me right was he not interested before sisu took us over.

2 things out of that made me laugh! 1st - damp squid!! And second was Souness trying to get into football!! I'm not being condescending by the way, just made me laugh thinking about Souness trying to get into football - thought he'd been in for years!!

Anyway, sorry about that! Regarding this apparent takeover, it's confusing me. News coming from inside the club is they are open to "investment". But Hoffman's group are surely looking at a takeover? Investment says to me SISU are looking to stay but want somebody to basically fund the club?

The other thing is, this person who is apparently involved with Hoffman is a billionaire (my sceptical side is raring to come out), telling me it wouldn't be Souness.

Souness was on radio with Richard Keys today ?? and don't believe for one minute Gary Hoffman will introduce people then sit back and think of England, he is just not being the Ken Bates look i'm a chairman type. But lets give the bloke credit with his business accumen he ain't going to introduce fly-by-nights. He loves the City as much as any fan

You cynic you
Glad I made you at least laugh kg but you know what I mean about souness he has wanted to own a club for years.
People are saying investors some are saying just 1 person a billionaire.

Could the sisu thing be they are being told what to say by the potential new owners so as to play everything down to the media as they do not want the same case of what happened last time this time around and so are doing a play on words so to speak?

Was meant to be is hoffman in the opening thread not hoffman is. (will edit this for you eleanor )

These were just questions and not accusations about any said parties and just scenarios to discuss.

Don't underestimate Graeme Souness one of his biggest buddies is a bloke called McDermott ( not his ex-teamate either}, can't think of his first name might be Brian, richest man in Ireland i believe.

Was not underestimating him at all, just that if keys has introduced some of the people to sisu along with hoffman it just adds up to me that he would be somewhere in this seeing as he has tried before to get into ownership of a club and ours particularly in the past.
Niall Quinn has done it why not him?

I know ICHAN, just made me laugh!

I'm worried about this takeover to be honest. From all the talk it seems a bit too good (if it is the billionaire thing) and you know when you just have that immense doubt about things (like with everything sky blue)? Well, I have that!

Like to bring a smile on faces.

Thing is there has just been to many rumours lately and if someone did actually know something for real everyone is so suspicious because we do support ccfc and are so used to false dawns and being let down.

That's just it, all rumours at the moment, but like you say, a lot of them. It's hard not to be taken in by it a bit and the state the team and the club in general is in, it's even harder to not clutch at straws.

the bits i've heard all hinge on how 'the mob' can explain / dupe, their investors,
i know it's getting ludicrously complicated,
& that i believe is due to the historic crass ineptitude exhibited by 'the mob',
effectively s*su & their alter ego's, are a 'busted flush',
but will grasp at everything,
so very, very, sad,

The reality is that there is no takeover in the near future. SISU have not moved, their position is the same, they want new investors NOT to be replaced. They have not changed the control Onye Igwe is still there, sure some have moved but the fundementals remain the same. There has been no movement on ACL. Lots of noise, not from them, lots of change, not of them. All change, stand still. Its like the optical illusion, when did you see the bear? You didn't, but it was there. SISU using puppets like Clarke give the illusion of change, of movement, but there is none. Hoffman is still nowhere. Keys is just a mouth trying to be relevant, but actually a dead duck. Where we are now is where we are: no takeover in the 'off(man)ing, SISU in total control, keeping quiet and letting the noise pass them by. If they need to nudge it they put up Clarke, a nobody and nothing, to flap the air so that there is a pretence of action. Nothing has changed the stranglehold of SISU still grips the club round the throat.

A very accurate summary of a very desparate situation. SISU are going nowhere until they get what they see as a fair return. Otherwise they will continue to run the club down in a bid to make it revenue positive as they are only interested in increasing asset value. All the more reason for getting the boycott to be a success. We need national awareness of the plight. Outside Coventry nobody seems aware at all of the problems. I have many associates away from Coventry who are all surprised at how poor our league position is but no awareness of the owners and issues. Shouting SISU out in the ground ultimately will achieve nothing. Deliue's nonsense comments are in my opinion deliberate to show contempt for supporters and to try and demonstrate that SISU are in charge and are going nowhere. This has to change but will take monumental effort and commitment.

Does this mean Souness could be the next manager? Could do worse than him. Any change would be good!

Guess you've never heard of being a damp squid then rob?
It's kind of putting a dampner on something, killjoy etc.
As for souness being the next manager, wouldn't have thought so but he has tried to buy us and other clubs in the past though, so would not be surprised if he did have his fingers in the pot somewhere IF there is a takeover challenge going to be made.

I think the statement by Clarke says SISU are not standing aside, but are willing to let other people risk putting money in and take the losses if that finance doesn't work.
Forget Souness & Keys, SISU will not negotiate a 'hostile takeover', when they sell they will have got their money out, somehow.
