Why does AT insist on all 10 outfield players defending corners which very often results in the corner being headed/kicked upfield straight to the opposition where it's then hoofed straight back in to our pen area again.

It does not make one iota of sense to me - if we had just one player on the halfway line surely it would at least occupy two of theirs and, obviously, act as an escape route for all cleared balls.

Mind you AT is not alone on this one as AB and CC were guilty also - so why do the "experts" adopt this tactic when it apperars to be so obviously flawed - to me anyway.

Been a bugbear of mine for an eternity.

All you are doing when bringing 10 men back is clearing the ball out straight back to the opposition. i noticed when we played Reading that at one point for a corner they left two men up. Fair play to them for that.

Wasnt Colemans response to this 'check the stats' or 'Man Utd do it', neither comment had any point though imo.

Im not sure why they all inists on doing it, and it was ironic when Coleman was commentating at the world cup, asking his co-commentator 'why isnt he leaving a man up when defending corners'. Just shown how clueless the guy was.

I wish they'd change it, leaving someone with a bit of pace, or even just a short arse player near the half way line so when we clear it, we can 'try' and make a counter attack. Maybe Thomas, although we'd lose his height, or Cody.

Always been happening.

Don't get it myself, always inviting pressure.
