Feel like (especially this season ) Lampard has been very good tactically and his subs whilst not always perfect have been largely very good .

I undertstand he is taking some advice on the sidelines too from Edwards but im very impressed with how hes reacting to matches this season

Several times ive sat wondering what hes doing or what hes changed it to or why and when i realise or find out left thinking

"Fuck me thats pretty clever "

Every fear i had initially about frank has gone and hes proving i believe to be a very good manager / coach .. far better than i ever expected

I still think like any manager he has his flaws. Though I crapped myself when I turned on and saw us playing a high line it wasn’t anything like as bad as I feared and we dominated first half because of it for me. The quick move to a back five today was smart as well, same as noticing what MvE wasn’t doing, stopping the game, then when he still wasn’t doing it dragging him.

He is the best tactical manager I can remember us having.

He is always a step ahead of everybody else and is very proactive with his changes. Doesn't do too much, not a tinkerer by any stretch but he just knows what needs to be done.

I'm immensely impressed with him. When we were linked with him I thought it would be a bad appointment and just another name. He's so much more than that. I can legit see him managing England one day.

By the way his league win ratio at the club is almost 60 % can somebody confirm , that is absolutely mental

I was (probably) in a minority who felt Frank was a very good appointment.
He along with his coaching team are definitely elite level tactically, not surprising when you see who they have played under/worked alongside in their careers.
He's doing amazingly well, long may it continue.

Only questionable game was Preston, but to be fair there weren’t many options on the bench, as good as we are he could do with a couple of more options when we need to change things up

One thing I love about him is despite his career success and the levels he played at and occasions he played in, he always appears to see his next game as the most important one yet and treats winning it in a similar vein.

I think this enthusiasm is great leadership to be honest. Managers should imo show emotion.

It was a real masterstroke by King, fair play to him. He’s by far the most passionate manager we’ve had and the most driven that I can remember too.

I was pretty agnostic on Frank when he came in and was happy to give him a chance. I never really got the level of negativity. He did a solid job at Derby, and at Chelsea and Everton there were some fairly obvious extenuating circumstances that could explain the perceived failures.

I think a lot of the backlash and suspicion came from him being part of the so-called "Golden Generation" that went into management and, on the whole, did not always do especially well, but kept getting work off the back of their playing reputations. People seemed to lump him in with that group straight away, e.g., Rooney and it coloured opinions.

I am just enjoying the season. Two league losses, most goals scored (which is funny given some of the pre-season chat about the forward line), and the 2nd best defence despite constant talk about our supposed frailties. Despite those numbers, it has not been easy at all. We have had to graft for plenty of results, and a lot of games could easily have gone the other way. The manner of the wins has made it even more interesting. We have given some teams an absolute hiding, scraped others by a single goal, come from behind, and led games and then had to hang on. You cannot really pigeonhole us like some teams, because there is no single way we win. Burnley technically did well last season but can you imagine sitting through that every week! On top of that, what I've also enjoyed is the squad growth has felt fairly organic. We obviously lucked out with the cash from Gyokeres and Hamer, but overall it has been a decent, steady build rather than something reckless.

I was too young to enjoy the 1987 FA Cup win, and sat through some pretty average Premier League years as a season ticket holder which was supposedly our pinnacle but where survival was basically the aim. Yes, it has meant going right down to the depths of the pyramid, but the last eight years, starting with Robins, has been the most enjoyable I can remember, and the last season and a half in particular has just been superb.
