I think Tudgay deserves a chance to start in the opening game. Scored 3 or 4 in pre-season so he's certainly proved himself

I am quite gobsmacked when I don't see Jones in someone's starting line up.

New one on me. They must have just been promoted this season.

Think the updated league table therefore looks like this.

1. Anti-Sisu Brigade
2. Council Lovin Brigade
3. Council Hating Brigade
4. ACL Brigade
5. Wasps Loving Brigade
6. Anti-Pro-Council-Hating-Sisu-Pro-Hating-CCFC-TrueFan Brigade.
7.Idiot Brigade

Oh, and not going to even attempt to predict the side for Saturday yet, cos I am sure more players will be in through the door in time for Saturday.

Oh yes, of course.

Forgot, they came up through the play-offs didn't they.

Having not seen the team play a proper competitive game yet and with more recruiting surely to come this week, I just don't see how we can write this first game of the season off just like that.

I'm going for a draw, but maybe a sneaky win is in the cards.

Who knows, could be just like Millwall last season.

Yeah, staggering. Our squad cannot be that threadbare if people can afford to leave Jones on the bench.

If TM goes for 4-4-2 I can see him putting Rose at right back. Think he came on a couple of times and played there last season.

RCC

ROSE RICKETTS WILLIS HAYNES

JONES VLAD RUBEN REID

TUDGAY SORDELL

Love the midfield options we have. Going for a score draw 1-1.

The only thing I am not sure about is Lameries centre mid.

Unless he was playing just in front of Vlad.

I think he could be good in that bit behind the strikers. He's got better vision than people give him credit for.

Midfield looks weak with Lamieres in thr middle, and not to mention rose at right back..... Not grit in the midfield at all.

Stick rose in the middle, DKE right back and then it looks much better - square pegs in square holes and all that.

This with sordell ahead of tudguy is what TM will play if we don't bring anymore bodies in.

Oh and my all time classic

"If you disagree with my opinion you obviously don't go to Cov Matches brigade"

Or

If you understand (don't like) but understand why the owners are getting a backlash from the council and Wasps you are not a cov fan brigade

Yes I agree he will but I think Tudguy deserves a start based on preseason

I don't see any way TM will go for 4-4-2. We've played the same formation throughout pre-season and we didn't even play 4-4-2 last year. I think the defence and midfield picks itself at the minute, the questions will be around who plays in the front three. Sordell will start then it's any two from Jones, Reid, Lamerias and Tudgay. Tudgay may make it in to provide some extra support defending set pieces, otherwise you go with Jones and Reid and then you have a lot of pace and movement upfront which should cause the Swindon back 3 a lot of problems..

I don't think we'll have problems creating chances but Obika is going to be a real threat for them with our back line, I'm going for an entertaining 2-2.

I think that's more than capable of getting a result.... wish we could get one or two in as previously stated but I'm gonna go 2-1 city... Reid to bag a goal on his debut and sordell to end his hoodoo..lol.. PUSB

With a few out injured, nowhere near enough signings and some suspended, gotta be a loss, hoping not too bad as Swindon don't appear great, but 2 nil Swindon I think sadly ...

2-3 to Cov.

RCC

Willis
Ricketts
Harries

Haynes
Gadzhev
Rose
Kelly-Evans

Jones
Lameiras

Sordell

Reading Jodi Jones' interview it sounds like this formation provides us with two central playmakers out of the front three with the wingbacks providing the width from midfield...has that how it's looked in pre-season?

the only good thing going for us - when I was talking to a STFC fan at work and was telling him how good Conor Thomas was - he seemed pleased, as he said that would probably make him their star player
We need something from this match - a hammering against us would be a disaster for all sorts of reasons, unless it meant 5 panic signings for the following game.
I would take a point now - but by saturday morning, as I get the shirt on and head down, nothing less that 3 will do

The concern about our defence is valid, but if you look at the side that won 2-0 at Oldham on the last day of the season, I'd say the team we're likely to field on Saturday is no weaker:

Charles-Cook
Vincelot
Stephens
Harries
Hunt
Fleck
Rose
Bigirimana
Thomas
Armstrong
Lameiras
