Coventry City Ladies FC v Brighton & Hove Ladies
Sunday 16th March 2014
Live at the Ricoh Arena
| Kick Off 2.00PM
Adults £5.00 Concessions £3.00
Advance Tickets Available from The Ticket Factory (additional fees apply) https://www.theticketfactory.com/de...ticle_id=7ED0373D-D346-4A8F-908F-A51A6708CC7F

This Sunday sees Coventry City Ladies play their 4th Round FA Cup tie against their counterparts from Brighton & Hove at the Ricoh Arena. Anybody who has seen CCLFC this season will already know how good they are; for those of you that haven’t this is an opportunity to watch an entertaining and successful style of football from a team on a 10 match winning streak, including the away league victory over Brighton & Hove last Sunday, taking the unbeaten run to 15 matches in all competitions since mid-October 2013. Our Ladies deserve your support this Sunday so please turn up and cheer them onto victory, I am sure that you won’t be disappointed. CCLFC are planning for a crowd of up to 1,000 but this could be extended if advance sales go well. It is intended that the ticket office at the Ricoh will be open on Friday evening from 4PM until 7PM and on Saturday from 10AM to 4PM.

Of course, this is also a great opportunity to see a Sky Blue team playing at the Ricoh, the true home of League One Coventry City who will be turning out at Sixfields on the same afternoon for their game against Port Vale. For those of us who don’t go to Northampton, Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to make a point by turning up at the Ricoh in large numbers. This would send a loud message to Sisu, the Football League and ACL/Coventry Council: we want to watch football in the City of Coventry, in our home stadium and we are not willing to wait 3-5 years for a new stadium ‘somewhere near Coventry’.

At the same time, Keep Cov In Cov will also be promoting the epetition ‘Without Fans there is no Football’ http://FixFootball.co.uk. Similar to the brilliant ‘WHY?’ demo at the Emirates & Notts County, signs showing the ‘Fix Football’ slogan will be available for supporters to hold up in the 35th minute while singing ‘I want to go Home, I want to go Home, Back to the Ricoh, the Ricoh’s our Home’. The reverse side has details of how to Sign Up and KCIC hope to reach people who have not so far put their names to the petition. Most of the people involved with the Ladies team are long-term Sky Blues fans themselves and are happy support this opportunity to promote the call for an Independent Inquiry into Football Governance generally and Coventry City in particular.

I might actually take one of my daughters down to this for the afternoon. Be nice to see sky blue running around the Ricoh.

Let's hope the girls can beat Brighton.

So, you likeSisu? As opposed to just putting up with them because of your love for City?

CCFC Ladies get the much needed gate money, hence why we should try and support these girls.

No never been before but did ask the question of who gets gate money, as for the pies I have no idea and do not actually care but I hope and presume its ACL as if they are doing it for nothing they deserve some cash.
I would eat in the casino anyway, I miss my pre natch tine going in there and wasting my £20 on the black hack.

Apart from matchday fees etc.

It is amazing how many people suddenly support the women when they play at the same time as the blokes, probably the same amount who bother to support the blokes when there is a sniff off Wembley

On the other hand, I hope they do well and maybe they will get some fans from it who will go and watch them all of the time.

Rather travel to Sixfields to support CCFC than go to the Ricoh to support CCLFC.

That doesn not make me a SISU rentboy or scab, I just refuse to watch anything at the Ricoh until CCFC are back playing there.

You do realise that no one is going to hold a gun to your head and make you purchase a pie or anything else for that matter. You could still go and do NOPM against ACL.

If you are saying this because you don't want ACL/CCC getting any money because they are at fault for our demise, how then do you go to Sixfields and give Sisu/Otium your money because I have seen you also apportion blame on them too. Does this not make you a hypocrite?

I have posted saying I am going and taking my daughter, she loves her sport so what is wrong with me taking her along to watch a women's football match. Is it that amazing that a female wants to watch a women's football match? or shall I take her to a man's game where they gob all over the place and spend more time with their hands round their bollocks than their feet touching the ball? Or is it the fact that people will be going to the Ricoh rather than Sixfields that bothers you?

The way you try to redress the balance with your line at the end does not detract from your first part.

Me too. At least it is a way of trying to keep our younger generation interested in football in Coventry, with a team representing Coventry.

I seriously don't see why anyone is getting the arse over this. It's promoting football spectating in Coventry. If the ransom ever gets paid for CCFC and they return back home to the city of Coventry (not the Coventry "area") then the ladies games, sphinx, Nuneaton Borough or whatever team people are watching for there football fix in the meantime is keeping a habit going and engaging the potentially lost generation(s) in watching football. Which will benefit CCFC on there return.

Why shouldn't people go to the womens game if they aren't going to the mens game? When I lived in Cov I used to regularly go and watch the reserves and youth team. Some days the youth team would be at home the same day the first team were away and it never seemed to be an issue for anyone. Wasn't aware going to support another team that's part of Coventry City was somehow a bad thing. You can't make the assumption that everyone who goes is making some sort of approval of ACL or as a protest against SISU. Maybe some people just want to go and see a Coventry City team play in Coventry.

That's absurd. I am interested in CCFC who happen to be playing at Northampton. I am not interested per se in a stadium.

If that's an away fixture we would all be interested. What's absurd is that it's our "home" fixtures and you have gone from NOPM to "super fan" in the blink of an eye. Have you forgotten that lecture you gave on why you were following NOPM not that many months ago when I challenged you about why you were, when considering the tone of your replies I was surprised to hear that you were following NOPM.

I have up NOPM when 7,000 other "super fans" decided it wasn't for them either.

Do certain folk realise how bitter and twisted they have become .........

asking who gets the pie money for a ladies football match just because it is at the Ricoh?! hahahahahahahaha it is beyond a joke these days!

Yet again Grendel brings up the pie money when WE ALL know that it has nothing to do with that. Bless him.
