Wouldn’t the EFL be in a tricky position if they penalised us for postponement of 3 matches for reasons out of our control when they have postponed an entire weekends programme of matches when they didn’t have to.

He's got a bench full of players he clearly doesn't trust and only 1 automatic starter to come back from injury.
Not sure he's OK with such a lack of resources.

Didn't he sign them all and I bet they are all on decent wages too.

It's not like the bench against Luton was full of kids.

Waghon
Walker
Palmer
Panzo
Moore

Then Eccles and Burroughs, they are youngsters. You would think when Kane is back fit he will replace Burroughs or Eccles on there.

The way they run the club is an embarrassment- we’re run as a plucky lower league club in the Championship - unfortunately relegation looks inevitable this season.

If we survive this season, we'll be relegated in the next few years going the way we're going. It's just not sustainable in the Championship without investment

Pete thanks to you for your efforts,as for boddy he's had an easy ride under robins stewardship, but the first sign of trouble ,of sisus own making ,the CBS fiasco followed by hyam and poor results he is a fish out of water ,out of his depth well n truly as is sisu being shown of how not run a club of such great history .
I'm sure JH is turning in his grave right at this moment.

The same JH(who I revere btw for his feats when I was growing up)that bankrupt the club with the Detroit express/Sky Blue Connexion. We had to have fire sale on a scale not seen before or since and would make Sisu blush.
No positive comments from me regarding Sisu and Boddy.

Well Waghorn and Walker haven't worked out, not all signings do, but we simply haven't strengthened in the summer.

As AOM says, we simply won't survive many more seasons inthe Championship without investment.

I'd be interested to see how much of the potential O'Hare money would have been made available for signings. I can't imagine much, but we're clearly reliant on making a big sale to make any progression.
Only Gyokeres or O'Hare have enough sale value to make any difference with regards to reinvestment in the squad at the moment imo

That's the thing, they still get paid a fair whack and nobody else wanted them.

At what point can you keep signing players on decent wages without getting rid of the ones we have already?

The sad thing is, is that there are actually posters on here who are now blind to the situation and think everything is going well.

Yeah we have posters who think 2 points from 6 games following on from our poor form from the second of last season is perfectly fine and speaking out about it are just doom merchants/bedwetters etc.

We can't, but other clubs move on failed signings.
Expecting every signing to work out and holding on to the ones that don't isn't the norm in football.
Especially when you're shopping in the bargain basement. Admittedly Robins has to take responsibility for Walker given how long he pursued him on top of dropping him on the back of him scoring 2 in 2 last season.

I don't pay that much attention to other clubs tbh. How do they move players on, can't imagine there's a queue of clubs waiting to sign players who have 'failed' at a championship club.

Are they terminating contacts with a pay off or agreeing to pick up part of their wages?

Doesn't that point to bad scouting / purchases as well?

Especially players like Hilsner, Dacosta, Walker, Waghorn, Kane etc. Decent wages but not trusted to play and given contracts that other people wouldn't take on so can't get rid of them?

Not sure many clubs would just pay them all off and do the same again, would they?

well we could but we can't spend the money twice so if we effectively pay one player the remainder of their contract to leave we can't also use that money to pay a replacement. much as we might want it to happen Seppalla isn't going to hand over money because we signed someone who turned out to be shit.

That's the thing, to say Robins doesn't trust him after signing him on what probably won't be low wages for 3 years then who shoulders the blame?

Yeah it would be lovely to be a Man City where you can just sweep up every player though.

Hmm…

Asked to expand on what he means by saying things have got to change, he seemed to suggest that things weren’t always as clear to him as they could have been, saying:

“Umm, I am not going to go too deep into it but things need to change in terms of, if you are going to make the best of a situation you have got to know what the situation is, 100 percent. So whilst you are trying to hold onto players, and rightly so, hold onto players that have done so well, they can’t do it on their own and they need a squad around them to help them.

Doesn’t seem very joined up manager/recruitment/CEO

“So to make the best of what you have you need to be in full view of everything that’s going on so that you can make the best decisions with the resources you have available to you. And if not then you have to make other resources available to you by selling people and making sure you have got the right balance, and using that situation to your own advantage.

We have in the past - if you care to admit it or not operationally Waggott and Anderson were far superior in dealing in this than Boddy - Robbins budget for transacting has virtually all been down to the deals they constructed with Wilson and Maddison - we’ve blown the Summer window with an amateur negotiating and ultimately selling no one but a fire sale at the end - and Robins clearly is pissed off

Boddy is continuing, at an alarming rate to show more and more that he is out of his depth.

How can we have him, and owners, that are aiming in just one season to potentially halve or even quarter record season ticket sales next year.

Morons, running and owning the club, hoping luck will keep us in the division.
We deserve so much better.

I’d imagine we have to pay well over the odds and then it’s impossible to find them another sucker.

There’s been a fair bit of bad luck, Walker forgetting how to play football at Pompey, Kanes last minute injury, Hilsners ACL, etc. Dacosta again nearly went and has gone out on loan (which frankly is a fucking miracle)

It’s only really Waghorn who is highly paid, not playing a lot, and come nowhere near going. And he’s in a lot of peoples preferred lineups for the next game.

All the players you mentioned are in their final year of their contract, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few gone before the summer.

I'd imagine Dom Hyam was literally sold from beneath Robins's feet.
He was probably told the club are selling him and just to deal with it in whichever way he can

All clubs make bad signing. We dont appear to allow for it.
We don't appear to allow for injuries either. Madness in a year like this with periods of heavy fixture congestion as it was let alone with us losing games because no one at the club realised the pitch had turned to marzipan.

Doesn't the fact they had a replacement lined up, albeit one that fell though, not indicate that they had some idea he was going?
