Question - am curious as to why an algorithm is necessary to reverse a fixture ? Security or police issues even stadium availability but a mathematical equation?
Isn't the key to integrity of the competition getting a fixture played ?

It's a surprisingly complex system. They use sequencing to avoid teams playing a run of home games or away games to ensure its fair/consistent across the board. Reversing fixtures would obviously screw that up.
