Sure will be agenda point - but what’s the plan to sort traffic situation/ get away after games especially ….feel it’s getting unmanageable for a lot, especially midweek.

Am I missing the point here
While 30000 walk away from the ground roads are shut
Once they are out of the way the roads open
Is it not that simple?

No. They are not all out of the way and the main car parks are locked until an hour after kick off.

I do not park within these car parks but its made it worse.

The other problem is the traffic lights on the roads arent alligned to the closure so even on roads with only one access route the lights stay on red making it worse

Perhaps ask people in car park A in particular which is becoming shambles especially at get away. Whilst roads remain shut with no one on them

there is no management of it seemingly.

the whole match day experience is becoming a real challenge for home games. (Granted roadworks not helping surrounding area)

If only it was that simple. You only need to read X for comments from tweeting they are stuck in a car park, the organisation was shambolic on Wednesday, clearly something was amiss as you got a different answer everything you asked a steward a question regarding the doors not opening at 1/2 time.

Because the A444 is closed, the surrounding roads then become gridlocked. It’s a joke and is going to be a huge factor in those considering renewing next year, including me.

It’s not about it opening, the whole area becomes gridlocked so cars can’t get out of the car parks.

Really?
By the time I applaud the team and walk back to the car about 15 mins away the roads are busy but 20000 cars have just gone to an event
What do you expect?
having said that the assault delayed stuff and the car parks need a solution which the club shoood demand and the lights can be sorted surely

Do people need to manage expectations
When you go to a gig do they bring the car round and hand you the keys?

It was on Wednesday. Usually it’s much quicker. But start of the season it was at least half an hour. The lack of consistency and willingness to just keep it closed means people have no faith in how long it’ll be. Users generally will wait if they know how long its uncertainty that brings frustration.

Used to be on the motorway in 15/20 mins before the closures. Now takes me over an hour. Not sustainable for me nor many others.

Sent this to John Taylor

Hi John
You’ll have read Twitter and other social media

Whilst I suspect a lot is managing expectations and I’m still on the side of sensible risk mitigation for supporters and cars not mix

There appears to be a few questions that the club should act on

The arena car park management is unsatisfactory and is a complete free for all after games. The club should demand something more as it’s unsafe and annoying

Who decides how long the roads are closed for? Can a time be communicated so that people don’t think when on earth will this be sorted?

Final one is some lights on open roads don’t change to green when there is only one route open can this be managed better?

Thanks so much
Pete
Sent from my iPhone

I assume most of us are sensible enough to realise risks should be mitigated or are we demanding all roads should be open or we won’t get a season ticket

Would love to see the time and location data on that assuming it’s not just anecdotal. I find it hard to believe there’s much around the arena more than ten mins after the game.

Its not just the car parks it causes issues for. I walk down to Longford square to get the bus back to Bedworth and the traffic its caused on the Longford Road is crazy.

People who cant use the A444 go down to the Blue Ribbon and back up Longford Road to get onto the A444 North and M6. Its gridlocked. I used to be on a bus within 10-15 mins of final whistle now it can take an hour. Traffic also becomes gridlocked at the roundabout on Pickards way/Wilson Lane.

Appreciate the roadworks on Foleshill Road don't help but the fact they've implemented this knowing about those is crazy.

Me too , should clarify I think 15 mins after final whistle has given the bulk of people time to be away

Traffic, obviously.

The club need to work with whoever decides this sort of thing and sort it out. A solution needs to be found because I am not queuing for 1 hour to get away from a game. It’s actually ridiculous.

Nope drive and park at the end of lythalls lane
I do see queues of cars and I do see lots of people walking away to get to their cars or home
Then I drive bumper to bumper and it eases as I head back into town on the a444 normally home in about 35 mins (20 of which is driving)
Tryin to use bus but we waited an hour for them all to come back to Tesco the Watford game

That will be why you don’t see any of the carnage then, it’s the opposite direction.

It’s a nightmare for those going the other way.

Exactly, the traffic has to go somewhere.

It is all routed down Longford Road for town which is then already gridlocked because of the roadworks. If lorries want to get to Prologis Park, they are all going via Ash Green.

Backs up the A444 / Longford roundabout too. Literally no where to go.

Half the time, there's roadworks in Exhall too so people who go left towards Bedworth are gridlocked.

All of the lorries trying to get to Pro Logic go down towards Exhall also, then left down School Lane to go through Ash Green.

Until the A444 re-opens, the surrounding roads are usually fucked too.

Wednesday evening, I was parked about 4 cars from the exit of Car Park A.

I made it to the A444 roundabout at 10.44.

Just to round off the evening, the M6 was closed from J7 to J10 (I live in Shropshire).

Keep it as it is Pete. Obviously it's nice to be able to walk home within 10 mins because roads closed and no queue at lights but also dangerous when people try to cross and cars don't wanna stop etc

Not sure what the club can do about the closures they put out an explainer saying who it was that was actually ordering the road closures

Went to Birmingham Academy last weekend, 45 minutes to get out of the car park. That's a 3K capacity venue

It’s the clubs issue to sort with the people that decide these things as ultimately, it’s going to hit them in the pocket!

Wouldn’t it be just easier to park somewhere else in Birmingham city centre? At the CBS there isn’t that option .
