When this all kicked off again we had a sizeable minority saying give them a chance, wait and see what'll happen - that'll never change however long this drags out.

They'll say what they want to when they want to regardless, they're hardly going to get spooked into letting the mask slip, and all it'll do is give oxygen to the give them a chance lot.

I only want to hear when there's actual news.

Sizeable minority? The reaction to the stadium announcement on this board was ecstatic. If the club thought they needed to work hard to win over the fans then they needn't have worried - this very board sent them a statement saying how "delighted" we all were within hours of the first press release.

I was being polite

What would change then, when we have the Fisher level of detail we had last time? We'll just get more delight.

I presume it’s the ‘bloody difficult to recruit any players from the EU & have we shifted our attention to South America & Scotland...’

We did quite a lot of scouting around Europe in leagues we're now going to find it difficult to recruit from. South America is probably a non-starter because of cost. Concerned we've lost one avenue where we could find a slight edge (although it's fair to point out there have been some mixed results recruiting from Europe). Scotland is an obvious place to focus, but the talent pool is quite shallow. Recruiting from lower leagues isn't necessarily easy or inexpensive. I'd suggest it's going to be quite difficult.

Money making scheme robbed from Forest Green. Sell Mystery boxes to shift sale and old stock. They have been flogging a box of upto £70 worth of branded tat for £15 a pop. Just choose the size. They have pretty much sold out.

My curiosity got the better of me and I got a box for my son (his school has an ambassador scheme up at FGR so we go to matches sometimes) only a tenner for the kids box.

He Got:
FGR jumper
T-shirt
Away zebra print scarf
Snapback baseball cap
3 pin badges
Sticker
Pencil case
Stationary set
Mini kit for the car

Crazy good value!

I did go spend £40 in the CCFC store to make amends and clear my conscience

Sorry guys the chair wanted questions this week so I have sent the following. They are passed to Dave Boddy before the call and he obtains answers. Sometimes there are answers that he doesn’t want to give publicly

Anyway these are what I’ve sent from us

Questions

New Warwick university ground proposal

Update on how the finance will be sought
When is an update with tangible progress likely?
When is a application likely for planning permission?
Is it economically viable for Ccfc to take on a large amount of extra debt to build a new stadium?

Return to Ricoh update

What is the current expectation for next season?
Have talks begun to extend the agreement at St Andrew’s?

Club membership shirts update

Eu complaint

Are the club expecting any decision from the owners EU complaint soon or is there a timescale that has been given?

Recruitment

Does Brexit mean significant changes in terms of recruitment from this transfer window just gone onwards?

JSB

Is it possible to arrange a summer kids party if possible with Covid restrictions following the lack of a Christmas party?
Is it possible to arrange a live stream zoom event with a player each month answering questions submitted by jsb members?

Club shop / website

Is there an opportunity to work with fans who are independent designers to sell their stock and share some of the revenue gained with the club?

I follow

How much has the club taken in income this season compared with attendances last season?

Do you have attendance figures for our games?

Streaming of u23 and u18 games

Is this possible as fans would be interested in watching and happy to pay a charge

Thanks for setting this up Colin

Pete

Just seen they've started the Birmingham away game is our biggest selling away game to date with just shy of 3,400 sold. Wonder how that compares with other teams.

and wonder how it compares to home games. Home games might be skewed due to membership holders. Surprised that's our highest for an away game to be honest, thought it'd be more.

Same, was genuinely shocked we'd only had that amount for a game. I know not every member will buy away games (my dad doesn't for one) but you'd imagine the majority do. Was there 3,000 members? Obviously some will share households so one stream covers multiple, but I am really struggling to see that many falling into that category.

As you said, will be interesting to see how that compares to other sides, but on the face of it, that seems like a very, very poor effort

Why would anyone who watches home games not watch away games? Assume for some it will be financial reasons but besides that I don't see why you'd watch one and not the other.

My dads take is he has paid for his season ticket to watch the home games, and he doesnt want to pay to watch more, which I would get if money was remotely an issue for him, but it's not. Just stubborn and tight I think. He uses my Sky Go too as he doesn't want to pay for sky (non-existent financial reasons rather than morals)

Just seen your Twitter message

Think Memberships sold was 3,500 & I'd guess majority of these included the ST option?
So guess we're looking at around 5,000-5,500 for home games - less when on Sky.
Obviously multiple people in a household is an obvious issue but still thought it might be higher.

Wonder if we can find out how many other clubs sell? I'm sure Andy Holt at Accrington shared some figures that showed they only sold a few hundred for some games.

Would be interesting to get the breakdown of the data but there's no chance of seeing that, if it even exists. Wonder if its the older supporters, who maybe aren't as up with technology, who aren't bothering.

Its a struggle to get my parents to use things like iplayer and that's built into the TV. Suggesting my Dad starts hooking the laptop up to the TV so he can watch us play would be a non-starter.

Surprises me they haven't got apps for all the various streaming devices and smart TVs. The back end system is by a company that does multiple other leagues and sports so the cost would be minimal as it would just be making changes to an existing app.

Habit. Many of us are home fans only or rarely go away. I'm not keen on shelling out another £200 to watch away games when I've paid for home games I can't get to attend. Retired, you see. It doesn't help that we're pretty poor away and expect to lose, of course ... and the quality picture on ifollow is so poor for my eyes anyway.

They capped it pretty low.

Total showing is pretty dismal, really. Not like we have much else to do that you can't get a game or two in, at least!

That said, in limiting who could sign up for the full season ticket early on, they probably stopped some people bothering. I guess as job security's limited atm, that won't help either.

So 2000+3500=5500
Say an average of around 2 people watching per household we could say our virtual attendance is approximately 11k.

I’ve watched every game, the other half watches most with me as well and I imagine quite a few others would be watching it with others at home too. That said, it’s a league game with the atmosphere of a nothing pre season friendly. I can see why the numbers are low

In all fairness I think the low uptake was pretty obvious from the outset.

The older generation may not have access to a tablet or laptop/computer required to stream iFollow, or simply they just won't know how to use it/be aware of it.

Then there are those who may not want to pay for their own reasons, and those who regularly look for illegal streams.

Additionally, and I think this is perhaps the most crucial hit to the numbers, there inevitably will be households who would usually go together to watch the games live who now watch games on one stream.

If you combine all the above factors - and I'm sure there are probably more that I've missed - the numbers were always bound to be relatively low.
