Maybe just a section for fan designed stuff. Would be nice to get exposure to local business and expand the product line without too much investment from the club.

Also it’s wrong that I buy no merch from the club and get it all from third parties because it tends to be better designed or better quality.

Nick could stick a few t-shirts on the website, Evo some of his photo edits as prints, that sort of thing. I dunno.

Some of Evo' s images would be great on the wall of a games room or kids bedroom in poster or framed pic format.

How about somebody who lives in Barnard Castle? How about somebody with childcare difficulties? How about elderly and immobile?

And of the wavering fans, what better way to encourage them to actually go than to show them what they're missing? It doesn't match the fully live experience, it just tries to replicate it. What better way to inspire an apathetic teenager whose parents won't take them but will shell out for streaming, to get a season ticket themselves when they're able to?

And if it's that big a deal, make it more expensive than an actual season ticket.

Random analogies. Are you honestly saying if you could stream live games on TV at 3 pm there would be no impact on attendance? Can’t buy that at all. Also the pricing Is I assume not relevant as I guess the clubs only get a proportion of it?

Not analogies, people who can't go.

If you're bothered about people not going instead, make it more expensive. Then, if it's a choice between the two, they'll go - that's why the pricing is relevant.

But, think back to when you bought your copy of Recital of the Script. Did it stop you wanting to go and see your idols in all their majesty?

In the short term it might well have some impact on attendance but, not accepting the relentless March of Progress means that you get left behind, people find ways with illegal streams anyway, and you miss out on taking along your audience for the ride, and medium-long term it's as likely to increase attendances for the main event as anything.

I’d be interested to know how many views the ifollow coverage gets per game and how this compares to the league averages. Given the fan base potential and low cost I mused to my brother the other day it could be around 15k but he shot me down.

Yeah I get that Pete and had taken into account the reduced children’s tickets etc. But on the reverse I thought (hoped) the wider fan base (occasional/big game fans and those who can’t always make/afford it) may have gotten on board for £10 a go following promotion. Particularly with not a lot else to do during the pandemic. No doubt I’m whey out but would be interested to know the actual figures.

I go to all home games and most away games each season. If IFollow was available next season I would still have the same pattern and use Ifollow for the one or two away games that I don’t get to. However I do think that having Ifollow freely available would have a significant effect on attendances.
I have saved hundreds of pounds this year in ticket and travel expenses. An away day usually takes up a good chunk of a Saturday. I am retired, I have the time to spare and I can afford the expense. I love the whole experience of attending games, there is nothing like it. I get the argument that some people due, to age, infirmity, finance work or family commitments would buy Ifollow and would not attend the game anyway, but I do think it would be a tipping point for a lot of people who would attend if a TV version of the game wasn’t available but will take the easier option if it was.
I’ve mentioned before attending Newport away in League Two. (extreme case I know). Three hours to get there( horrendous traffic). Arrive half two but get in late due to size of away following and lack of open turnstiles. It is belting down with rain, soaked before we get in the ground. Wade through mud to get to the open terrace. Stand on open terrace, on concave planking which have already filled with water, which meant we stood in a puddle being rained on all game. Despite being desperate for the toilet at half time, the toilets under the stand couldn’t be reached as so many people were stood in the very narrow concourse, the single toilet behind the open stand had huge queues standing in the mud, so I held on until full time. The day out with tickets, travel and a bag of chips after the game was about £80 and took up a whole Saturday. With a VPN I could have watched it for a tenner, cup of tea and toilet at half time and used up only 2 hours of my Saturday. Now, I look back fondly on that day and even defeats in the rain at Forest Green but I do understand why lots of more sensible people would choose the easier option.

Can only speak for myself but if we're in Brum again next season I won't be at any games, not out of protest just doesn't work for me logistically. I'd happily pay the price of a season ticket to watch the games on ifollow. If we are back in Cov I'll buy a season ticket and go to the games even if ifollow is an option.

Wherever we're playing I won't be at any away games but again would happily pay to watch them on ifollow.

Surely not that hard for the club and EFL to do some actual research. They've got data on who buys tickets, how often they attend etc and now they have nearly a full seasons data on who buys streams. Look at the data and do some market research.

I got a season ticket this season for one reason only.
We take an old lady in her 80s only time she gets to go out.
Hate brum hate the whole experience, so will not attend another season there if I can help it, really find it hard to enjoy it.
BTW I dont give a fuck how good their pubs are as I dont use them.

Nope, same reason I can't go to home games if we're playing outside Cov. I can just about get away with two or three hours to go to a game but anymore than that and it doesn't really work for me.

Happily divorced. Every Saturday used to be an argument. Although to be fair she probably did have a point with 'why do you bother, they lose every week and it just makes you depressed'.

No questions on kit, no questions on pies, no questions on pints, no questions on Sky Blue Sam, just questions as to where we are playing and what is happening re. returning to the Ricoh, I keep reading Boddy saying he is in frequent discussions on that issue, well let’s find what has been discussed, tie him down to a reply, an answer or even just an opinion then talk about kits, pies, pints etc, etc.

That's fair enough. Enjoyed the days out but will be pissed off if we're in Brum next season.
We can't move forward while we're there and would consider not getting a ST myself.

At the risk of re-opening old wounds, it wouldn't be so bad if there was actually tangible progress on a new ground.

tbh, I'd avoid questions on a new ground altogether for this - it's annoying when they say things without any progress, so why push them to? We had Fisher years back with the SCG talking about deals imminent, three sites identified etc, so why go through all that again?

Focus on the immediate, and the near immediate and, when it comes to a new ground, the best we should have is when are they likely to be able to provide a tangible update?

I can see your point, but i made a decision to go to St.Andrews based on the little information I had to go on and came to the conclusion that wasps played a major part in us leaving the city, (I accept I might have been wrong but that was the judgement call I made).

If we're still in Brum next season then I'm going to have to do the same again so anything scrap of information I can glean regarding new ground status will inform what I do next season if we are outside of Cov.

Can you ask if there's any chance of getting the U23 games streamed online. Not expecting anything other than a single camera feed with no commentary as some other clubs provide.

Certain they film the games as they'd want the footage for their own use and clips sometimes show up on social media. Can't be that hard technically to stream it to YouTube.

Not sure on the legalities of it but could we charge a nominal fee for it? Couple of quid maybe. If it takes off, then maybe add it to the Season Ticket as extra incentive.

Some of us are old enough to remember the good old days of reserve games being on Coventry Cable! Remember some decent crowds at HR to watch the reserves but at some point it was decided it was better to play the games in the the day when most people are at work.

I've heard through contacts that the Ricoh move is looking pretty positive and is as close as it's ever been.

However, the same has been said to me twice before so I'm not holding my breath.

By the way I’m not criticising those meeting and asking questions but I feel until we have positives regarding. the Ricoh (there is nowhere else) every thing else is a distraction.
I think we’ve been fortunate, COVID and the subsequent behind closed doors has softened our situation and for 12 months every club have been in the same boat and I doubt crowds in mass will return atleast until next season, I was listening to Pier Morgan show today and it was mentioned on there gatherings such as Cheltenham and cup-finals etc could be a couple of YEARS away.
Talking our Ricoh situation could it be possible to find out if or when this EU issue is going to be heard, could we get one of our MPs to investigate that.

Pretty sure that’s right. Pretty sure the Eu don’t give a monkeys about our issue as the country’s courts have dealt with it so there’s no priority for them to look again

I don’t think it’s the only issue but it is the most important

To set expectation, you aren't ever going to get a break down of the minutae of discussions. I'm not sure that you'll get any more than what is currently in the public domain - i.e. discussions are ongoing.

Who knows, we may have some news before this meeting in a couple of weeks time.

The stadium situation is the single most important issue to the future of the football club - I think everyone at the club would breathe a very big sigh of relief if the toughest question they got on it was "When can we expect another update?" The fact that we haven't had something more substantial already (and that most of us seem content with that) is embarrassing all round.

If it exposes a pointless sham for what it is, then it serves a very useful purpose. It's crazy to me that people aren't more skeptical about this project and assume it's a done deal. If we just sit and patiently wait for the next update then that won't change.
