At the raucous forum at the Village hotel with Fisher and Garlick trying to convince people a new stadium wasn’t just a fantasy - there was someone asking if the pies there could be locally sourced.

Lots of people park close by, or get picked up, so you'd still have traffic. Plus there would be the normal A444 traffic with nothing to do with the football.

Agree on the parking nearby, but if it's just normal A444 traffic, should that be our problem to fix

Pisstaking aside this forum contains knowledgeable and articulate members on all sorts of relevant areas - Finance,Marketing ,Retail, Event management etc.
I think it is our responsibility now to come up with a really decent set of questions before the next forum. Always feels like we ask the killer questions once the minutes come out.
The Trust is discredited and I’m not sure even exists anymore. I notice they couldn’t even be bothered to turn up for the last meeting and the other reps just seem to be mired in trivia or their own hobby horses.

No, but it presents a risk to fans leaving the stadium so has to be considered.

The answer to all the road closure shite is simple

Build a fuckoff bridge over the A444, about 8 times the width of the current one. Get the support work done either side in the car parks, road will only need to be shut for a night while they lower the main bridge structure into position

Then we have the tunnel to Car Park C, the current bridge that's in place, and then the new bridge

Paying for it however I admit, is the big issue

Only problem being who pays for it

What’s the average compo claim for being run over? Or the ten year cost of closing roads?

Fuck it stick a £10 surcharge on STs and get it built.

There's a bridge planned to be built over a dual carriageway in Keighley. Originally quoted at £3.4m now has risen to £9m. It's not going to happen.

If they do not take the bridge or subway pedestrians are funneled into 2 at grade crossing points. At the shopping park access and at the Judds Land roundabout because there are railings elsewhere.

I presume that's where all the problems occur.

The existing bridge doesn't seem to be particuarly heavily used so I doubt anyone sees much need for an increased capacity there.

Judds Lane is a problem. The fact you have stairs leading to the crossing is an issue that could relatively easily be fixed. Just have a walkway on a gradual decline. But the crossing itself can't cope with the number of people, largely due to the fact that there's little capacity for people when they get to the other side.

But there is potential on the other side to widen the pavement, just a question if that then pushes the issue to the Hen Lane / Winding House junction.

Ok Peter let me Ask a daft question.

Regarding the road closures, instead of closing the roads why don't they use the footbridge that connects Car park C to the Arena for fans to cross the road after the game, because there are steps that allow you to go down onto the foot path on the other side of the A444.

Obviously fencing off the pedestrian crossing at the same time so people don't cross the road.

Of course it would have to be Marshalled correctly.

And then no one would have to be held up waiting to get out of the car parks.

Bridge would cost millions and wouldn't necessarily solve the problems.

A lot of grounds we've visited recently have had similar closures. Swansea was identical with their duel carriageway closed.
