Well its not outrageous its just piss poor attempt at grabbing voters from every demographiic you can. Obviously Cameron thinks food banks and growing inequality is a sign of a Christian country. Tosser.

Food banks should not be needed with our benefit system. It's a political tool !!

Probably one of the few around here that has done Moral Philosophy at University.

We are driven by a Christian Framework in this country but the demographics are always changing. When people stop taking their morality from dusty old books and figuring out that there may be other driving forces that control the individual and societies morality and meta-ethics, then this society with which we all live in will become a better place.

It is a strange thing to talk about being bound by Christian values of fairness when, in the name of religion, we persecuted or treated as second class most people who weren't straight white men. Quite what this has to do with the Supporters Consultative Group, CCFC, football or even sport is however another matter

Probably not a lot to do with the SCG but the thread did get onto morality and ethics so I thought I would add my ten pence worth.

The problem of course in calling this a Christian country is that there are so many flavours of Christianity in the UK which drives what we think and do, you can't really pin down what a Christian country actually is, or does.

When you live in Scotland for a while you come to realise that belief in God isn't a qualifier for calling yourself Catholic or Protestant. As an evil scientist my place in Hell is already guaranteed so I may as well crack on with things as normal.

Interesting to say you are a scientist. I am one of the few who are turning back the nonsense from the Discovery Institute.

Doing a PhD in chemistry. The branch of science that is blamed for causing climate change, killing animals for fun in pharma companies, and toxic waste. When I worked at GSK there was an official procedure for what to do if the site was stormed by animal rights protestors-despite no animal testing happening on the premises.

Yes, animal rights protesters have an interesting idea of moving their Utilitarian ideology into all forms of life. In my opinion completely bonkers but if anyone wants to read more, its here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Liberation_(book)

Most of these ideas for science denial (Climate change/evolution etc) do at their core have some sort of religious belief at the start of it. The battle started in America years ago to change the cultural ideology of the society they live in, and it is now sadly manifesting over to Europe.

This video has been doing the rounds recently amongst a few people I know. Quite entertaining.

I read the minutes from the last few meetings. What stuck out for me was the refusal of members groups of the SCG to understand that their voice has no mandate from fans. It was clearly stated that the SCG is not a 'fans Parliament' and hence does not carry the views of fans. Just the view of the groups CCFC has added to the SCG.

But in a way the SCG wasn't set up by fans for fans, it was set up by the clubs give them a 'focus group' of fans to which they could consult with.

How is this focus group in anyway representative of the views of fans?

I can understand the Sky Blue Trust who speak to their membership and are Democratic but what about the other members?

Actually, I believe it was originally set up by the Sky Blue Trust and most other members came on via invitations/nominations from the Trust (source: Lionel Bird, SBT Board member). Apparently, Jonathan Strange took his place as representative of London Supporters, a body from which he resigned because he could not agree with their stance over Sixfields ground-share, yet didn't step down from SCG at the same time.
Undoubtedly, the SCG has recently been subverted by the Club Management into a 'Sisu Fan Club' rather than a fan representative group, hence the amount of time spent in attacking the Sky Blue Trust and its representatives. While I am sure that several of the SCG members have the best interests of the club at heart, they seem to have lost their focus on the important issues - no1, getting us back to Coventry - while Sisu and their puppets wage a propaganda war on the major supporters group, SBT.
I do hope that we will hear from tonight's meeting that common-sense has returned to the SCG, but I am not holding my breath!

I suppose like with politicians, they can only express their views rather than canvas the views of the whole fan base.

No news from the SCG then?
Are the SBT still allowed to represent its thousands of members in a fans forum.

Or do they have to toe the chairmans party line?

I assume you've arranged your meeting with ML by now. Why not ask him when you are with him and express your concerns?

Grendel you are barking up the wrong tree on this one and it is a little embarrassing.

I have no fear of having a pleasant meeting with ML on a hotel sofa whilst drinking. Discussing CCFC sounds very pleasant.

It is unlikely he going give me a Glaswegian kiss whilst shouting 'you've had this coming Dongo'

My issue was not with meeting him. It was that some people had and never bothered to have the curtesy to let anyone else on here know what ML has said.

Then when it began to drip out, when anyone was asking how has this come about they got attacked.

All I got to this simple question was do you want a meeting or not keyboard warrior!

So I contacted the person directly who I felt was actually ML. ( I was that scared to meet him)

Turns out he wasn't by this point it came out how all the meetings had come about and that you all seemed to be saying it was a waste of time.

So it was the process and the attitude that bothered me. Not the fear of ML giving me a good going over.

But hey ho keep calling me a keyboard warrior, I have a kinder egg left over from easter for you when you have eaten all your dinner.

Again, I am more than happy to pass your details over for a chat. I would be interested to know who you did contact, contacting random people won't do anything.

I am not sure he would give anybody a good going over.

Nobody was attacked, it was the people giving it loads about not knowing about it, so then I put it on them I would arrange to get them there but it suddenly went quiet...

If you are so bothered about what was said and what he was asked and if he was asked the questions you want, then speak to him yourself, rather than contacting random people presuming they are him.

Just ranting for the sake of it.

I would hardly call people on here asking how are these meeting with ML happening really 'giving it loads'

However as oppose to answering that simple question and saying things like do you want a meeting or not keyboard warrior and why don't you start a thread asking how these meetings are been arranged. Probably fits more in the giving it loads category.

Do you think it is surprising that people found it strange that you met with ML then after 4 days when it started to trickle out you decided to mention it. This in a forum where people seem to analyse ML's every word. Also you were not told to keep it quite.

I PMed the person who was also offering to arrange a meet for me but not in such a gobby manner. Plus the person had previously started a thread in a cryptic manner that led me to believe he was ML.

Out of interest

Did you ask ML when the main forum was to be?

Did you ask him how we can afford this new stadium idea?

Did you ask him what harm CCC can do us by temporarily renting from them by building a new stadium.

After you had you meeting why did you wait 4 days before mentioning in here. Do you honestly think people would not be interested in hearing about what was discussed. Even if you were to say had a meeting with him heard nothing new?
