Noticed this on another forum. Hope it's not true.

Back page of times today " US investors close in on Sunderland " looks like a private deal with American billionaire Dell (25th richest in world)

With a bit of luck there will be a deadline to agree on the takeover and they will miss it by 15 minutes.

They had a super rich owner in Ellis Short who pumped millions in, their problems aren't related to money

Good for them. personally whilst I wouldn’t mind a bit of investment to buy a ground and compete a little, having billions chucked at you just creates another plastic outfit Remember when Man City were a real club?

he's right about Man City.
Would I like to be in their position, too right! But it's came at a cost as far as the club traditional identity is concerned, though personally, I'd live with that for the haul of trophies they've racked up over the last few years.

Couldn’t care less really other than they might get enough money to buy their way out the division and take up one of the promotion places that we are fighting for.

All about what happens on the field -this season - despite being bought they need to get promoted - we can play a part in ensuring this doesn’t happen by taking 6 points off them
