Lose this and get rid of Lampard. Go all in for the Plymouth manager.

Wilson isn't really all that much better to be honest and he genuinely can't kick a ball to save his life. Both should go in the summer.

I'm also calm. If we win amazing but if not I think I'll go straight into summer excitement mode rather than mourning as I am confident we will be top 6 again next season and perhaps make a jump to challenge for more.

It only takes 3-4 upgrades to completely take this team to the next level and lampard has the pull and king has backed us since she came in.

Futures bright. Futures sky blue.

my only fear is if we dont make prem this year that some players will want a move away, immediately thinking of wright.

There will be fewer teams receiving parachute money next season if Blunts go up, i believe. With Luton gone and the other 2 promoted straight away, it would be just the 3 that came down. As far as i know parachute payments have ran out for anyone else that may have been receiving them, although i'm happy to be corrected.
Then of course you hope Leicester finally receive the punishment they are due and struggle to get a foothold.
Think Blues will do a lot of rule bending to try and get up but despite the hype i think their squad is a way off ours atm so would require a big spend.
So anyway, what i'm saying is, i think we'll be up there next season. Solid play off team but be ready to pounce if any of the parachute teams do shit the bed.

Nah. Just go and poach their shit players instead. That seems a popular strategy on here.

The good thing about spending big is you can do it and yet still fail to produce a team that wins consistantly.

Echoing the sentiment shared by a few - and a reason I'm in the much maligned "didn't want playoffs this season" cohort.

I'm very relaxed about later - albeit still the same old pre-game nerves. I think there is a lot to be said for "being ready" for the premier league. I don't think we're ready - and maybe no-one ever is. But I don't think having half a good season is a good enough indicator that we are ready for the step up, never mind being brutally honest, not having even close to 25% of a squad that could compete at that level.

Forest managed it (promotion after just half a good season) and are only where they are now with an obnoxious amount of money thrown at the squad - a privilege we won't have.

There is the argument that just getting promoted gives us parachute payments - an argument I can get onboard with.

But yo-yo-ing between the leagues, causing a huge turnover in the squad each time, is not conducive to building sustainably with a view to competing in that league - as this years crop has shown.

I think we're a very appealing offer to great talent nowadays, so confident we can continue to build a great squad - one that is more prepared for the step up and for us to ultimately, stay there for good.

It's win-win for me tonight. Win and of course we get another day out at Wembley and the shot at the PL, but lose and we've got a lot to look forward to next season. Lampard's first transfer window, the current team managing to finish 5th in the league and packed out CBS's just to name a few. Plus the Championship is just brilliant.

He certainly does.

At times he can be unstoppable, but we haven't seen that in quite a few weeks.

I don't buy that he's lazy. That's just the way he plays, but he hasn't been on his game in terms of chances and goals has he

He needs to come good tonight

Yeah, it would be fabulous if we could add to the squad, but we could well lose top players too, so it might prove to be a more reset mode.

If we lost MVE, Wright and Rudoni, for instance, they would be hard to replace

Hopefully we can build on what we've got.

You have to take every chance to get in the big league for me - it doesnt come around that often it’s all about the money - you can see the difference in press / Radio cover since Frank has come in - if we can get up and keep him can you imagine how much easier we can get investment in the club - it’s great to see young kids in their Monzo shirts rather than Arsenal Manure and Liverpool

One down we have every chance tonight !

The players have seen what can be done in only half a season, plus the FL pull I'm sure only those that want to leave will go, and we should be capable of bringing in more quality. Like others I'm not worried about this game tonight, but whatever happens I am so looking forward to next season whatever league we end up in

I was really nervous on Friday but feel OK about travelling up tonight. We win, great. We lose, still been a good season.

Yeah
I think we can all be relatively calm about tonight.

Much more pressure on Sunderland.

They have been around top all season long and are expected to win, especially with the 1 goal advantage. There is an expectation

For us, it's a free shot with nothing to lose

There is no expectancy for us to win and if we lose, we will still have had a great season.

If Sunderland lost out tonight, there would be all sorts of recriminations I think.

Feeling strangely comfortable about this game.

We're already behind so not progressing is what you'd expect. A win is a bonus from this stage.

A loss is free from a couple weeks stressing about Sheff Utd pumping us.

Obviously I want us to smash Sunderland still.

He'll play EMC on left and Wright down the middle tonight i think. Other than that it'll be unchanged.
Let's see what happens, we'll know tonight whether we get another day out at Wembley or whether its time to start filling the forum with transfer rumours.
Wright needs to be on it, i'd say he's due a good performance.

If Sunderland sit deep it'll be difficult for Wright. On the other hand, it's good that he will be relieved from defending and can concentrate on what he's best at. I thought EMC did quite well the other night when he came on, both him and Saka need to try and keep getting to the byline.
