Alan Partridge: 'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to drive two and a half hours to Crawley, the players are bottlers, you've got to get a point, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!".

Here is how things currently stand going into Sunday (Will update after Colchester v Swindon)

52 - NO TEAM RELEGATED WITH THIS TOTAL Coventry City(45), Crewe Alexandra(45)
51 - Safety 2010, 2013
50 - Safety 2012, 2014
Notts County(45)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
50 - Crawley Town(45)
49 -
48 - Safety 2011 Leyton Orient(45), Colchester United(44)
47 -
46 -
45 -
44 -
43 -
43 -
42 -
41 -
40 - Yeovil Town, RELEGATED(45)

Forthcoming fixtures:

18th Coventry(45) - 52 points. Crawley(A)
19th Crewe(45) - 52 points. Bradford(H)
22nd Notts County(45) - 50 points. Gillingham(A)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
20th Crawley(45) - 50 points. Coventry(H)
21st Leyton Orient(45) - 48 points. Swindon(A)
23rd Colchester(44) - 48 points. Swindon(H), Preston(H)
24th Yeovil(45) - 40 points. MK Dons(A)

So what is everyone thinking?

For me:

Colchester 1-1 Swindon
Crawley 0-0 Coventry
Swindon 3-1 Orient
Preston 2-0 Colchester
Gillingham 2-1 County
Crewe 0-0 Bradford
Yeovil 0-3 MK Dons (Carl Baker hattie OBVS)

Leaving the table looking like this:

Coventry 53
Crewe 53
Crawley 51
County 50
Colchester 49
Orient 48
Yeovil 40

Probably safe at half-time; have a couple of celebratory drinks.

And then the second half...................

Crawley 2 City 0.

Remember most are out of contract and wont risk a move by putting themselves about to risk an injury. Crawley will be fighting for every ball.

People seem to forget that Crawley have just lost a game they were winning 3-2 up until the 88th minute. Showing their current mental state to be worse than ours.

They also have the hapless Dean Saunders in charge who was relegated with his last club, Wolves.

We'll beat Crawley. We're decent away from home, there will be a lot of pressure from their home fans and as mentioned they just checked away three points so aren't in a good place mentally at the moment.

We'll be 2 up at half time, then Crawley will grab a late goal...

I predict that I will go to the pub around Midday and at all costs try and avoid any talk of League One until its full time. By this point I should be enough beer deep to deal with the grizzly outcome.

Not going to worry about a thing. Too many things have to go against us to send us down. Teams doing as bad as us have to win and us lose to send us down. If I was one of the clubs below us I would be crapping myself. But we have the points on the board and have a decent away record recently.

Yeovil.......relegated.

Colchester.........Swindon have only lost 13 out of 44 games. They have won 23 of them and only drawn 8. Colchester will have to beat them and also Preston who are in 2nd and after a win to get promoted as Colchester have a poor GD.

Leyton Orient.....4 points behind 1 game to go. Can't catch us

So we are left with 3 clubs that need to get past us.

Crawley......have to beat us. If they don't we are safe.

Notts County.....Have to beat Gillingham away to go past us. Gillingham have a good home record. Won 10, drawn 6 and only lost 6.

Crewe.....Home to Bradford. They have to get a better result than us to overtake us. They have won 8 and drawn 7 out of 22 home games. But Bradford have done better away from home than at home.

Maybe Crewe are in a better position than us. The others are not. But I still prefer to be us than Crewe as we have the points and GD on the board.

Mellow out everyone. Look at the positives instead of the negatives for once.

yes it is in our own hands, but final season day can be a day of unforeseen drama going on until the last minute of injury time at another game. We need an eleven man performance and City fans to just make the noise even if it doesn't start well.

I have a feeling we will lose at Crawley and be relying on others to keep us up. Reminiscent of a few other last day nailbiters, including that day at Villa Park when we had to rely on Notts County beating Luton.

I can see Crewe winning too, but I think Notts County will oblige again by failing to win at Gillingham. Too close for comfort but survival by a gnat's knacker!

There is only one result that should matter and that is ours but if we go looking for a draw we will get destroyed. I cannot see us winning but we may get a draw at best. I can see this being similar to when Leicester went down, we were shocking that day but thankfully stayed up by results going our way.

I might just stay under the covers on Sunday (Also on the all dayer in Brum!! )

Yep, that's how I see it. I fully expect us to lose but think we'll stay up for the reasons you mention above.

Think we may have to rely on results elsewhere than winning ourselves. Look what happened last time we went into the final game of the season needing a win to ensure safety (under Coleman I think) - a terrible gutless performance and I cannot see much more from the current shower of shite.

Totally agree...don't even feel anxious about it. To be in a position where we can lose and still stay up....could be a whole lot worse, and it is for those below us!
