I don’t disagree we could get better, but you focus on the weakest areas of the team; and to me these three positions are that.

Yes I think we all respect his efforts and he has been a good dependable player for us. But some of the comments suggesting he can't be improved on and he's better than van Ewijk are ridiculous.Bidwell is sacrosanct on here.

We literally have posters above saying he can't be improved on and that they wouldn't want a van Ewijk equivalent in place of Bidwell.Is anyone actually saying we shouldn't go after a LB though?
I'd be well up for adding another quality player to fight it out with Bidwell.
I do get the fact that Dasilva is here to stay so maybe Bidwell will move on but I really don't think he was the issue last season

Now that the opinion of many is that he's incredible, my opinion remains pretty much the same, he's fine. If we want to improve left back is second only to goalkeeper in terms of priority.
And you are right about how he seems sacrosanct on here. It's weird. No one seems to mention how poor he was at Wembley and how he looked totally out of his depth. But no we wouldn't want a van Ewijk equivalent on the left, we'd rather have Bidwell apparently.

I don't think Bidwell has changed too much, hence my opinion remaining largely unchanged, but it's weird how the pendulum swings with some players.

Even if that's right you can't always just get rid of players on four year contracts who you think aren't good enough.It's JDS that needs upgrading. Bidwell is ok but an upgrade on JDS and Bidwell would solve the LB position
