James was born in Bacup. It’s a good omen.

Maybe these guys need the kick up the arse, had two windows at least to get this sorted, is Doug poking his nose in too much?

Can't imagine Doug is sitting in on all the recruitment meetings.

Matty James would be a pretty poor indicator of the clubs transfer business in the window just gone.

Agreed, very poor from the recruitment department, deserve criticism.

id take him though, which sums it up. I think he could be a shrewd signing right now.

probably the most stupid comment posted in the last week.

We have Haji, Simms, MVE signed last year who we could sell for £10m+

We went from Hamer, to Stamenic, to Browne, to Matty James. And pretty sure we're going to finish on Fleck.

Think James would do the likes of Rudoni the world of good. He looks lost at times

Compare our squad from 22/23 to the current one and you should have your answer.

Unequivocally, it’s been good.

We don’t know the ins and outs but if we couldn’t identify the ‘right’ player at the right price, then it’s perhaps best we wait it out.

James as a placeholder signing wouldn’t be terrible. Played 43 games for a decent Bristol team last season and adds a lot of intangible assets - as we seen in 20/21.

You have to be pragmatic in the transfer market and if that means it takes 2-3 windows to get the best long term signings… so be it.

He’d do both Torp and Eccles a world of good. Robins put it quite accurately that our press was off - I don’t think either Eccles or Torp are capable of ‘leading’ that midfield area. Certainly not as well as Sheaf.

He would of been the one to get and Liverpool were ready to let him leave. He should be back fit in Nov so i wouldn't be shocked we go back in in Jan..

Free agents being linked to their former clubs must be the easiest football gossip to come up with
