Torp and Eccles are fine as replacements, rotation. The problem is when they're forced to play together. We just need another (better) midfielder alongside Sheaf.
Not for me, Sheaf is the key. Rudoni will thrive with Sheaf I'm sure. Currently we've been asking Torp and Eccles to do jobs they are not comfortable doing. If we added another progressive DM, as close to Sheaf as possible we'd be in good shape. Would allow us to rest Sheaf and cover him if injured without forcing players out of position

I could replace Kasey Palmer, the odd failed dribble the odd step over followed by stacking it 60 times due to the wind blowing.

All I'm saying is that I'd take the swap deal as we still have 3 other players that can play striker .

Simms record is entirely up for individual opinion , if I think he's not been great at times there's no problem in saying so , it's a forum
But out of the 3 other options how many are proven in the championship even to Simms levels? I'd prefer we kept him for another year blooded the others in and de-risked the sale which is what I assumed the plan was bringing in as many strikers as we have. 19 goals in your first season across all competitions at the age of 23 I wouldn't think was a bad return. Asante last year got 12 at the age of 25. basatte 5 at the age of 19...

Palmer doesn’t need replacing. We’ve replaced O’Hare with Rudoni. Hamer? How far back should we go. We’ve had a full season without him. Is Torp invisible? Can Andrews not develop? Etc etc

It is more squad size for me, last year the players clearly burnt out.

SInce Hamer left we are now we have lost Hamer, McFadzean, Kelly, O'Hare, Godden, Moore, Binks and now Palmer - so 8 out

and replaced with Torp, EMC, Rudoni, Dovin, BTA, Raphael, Bassette and Binks- so 8 in.

As such we are no stronger than last year, still concerned over no RB cover, now a midfielder short as well, along with the DM and CB many on here have send we need for most of the summer.

We have improved the overall quality of the squad, but are still short on numbers, there is talk of Tavares going and possibly Collins, in effect on our bext XI will not make one iota of a difference, but suddenly 10 out, 8 in, we would be relying on the youngsters to support. I'm not sure Allen is at his best form yet, but would you drop him for Andrews, it is a risk

A lot of the goal’s conceded though are due to the defence being under constant pressure due to the lack of protection because by the substandard DM’s in front of them.

Cos we haven't replaced Hamer.

That doesn’t add up because Eccles lined up with Hamer/Kelly/Sheaf in 22/23 and we played more counter attacking that season. We had the 4th best defence that season.

The midfield personnel, excluding Torp, have been with us the whole time we’ve been in the Championship.

What has changed is the defenders, and outside a good run of 10-12 games where we kept clean sheets, we’ve looked shaky.

We miss the star quality that Hamer brought to us, I do not believe that has lead to us being more leaky in defence because Eccles’ defensive stats are generally better than Hamer’s iirc.
