And what happens if he picks up an injury, or has a loss of form?
And if we're 3-0 up after an hour or so, we now have the option to sub him and save his legs for the next game.

I reckon Bassette was brought in to play regularly, so maybe we purchased BTA because he was available for a good price, and we weren't sure we could get other options over the line in time (Bassette for example). Personally, don't see the problem with having depth, as it's up to the individual players to prove they're good enough to start.

Well to be fair , asante had played 47 minutes in the championship for us .. he also scored a whopping 2 goals in the league less than Simms last seasonMore minutes for BTA means less minutes for Simms, who is one of the best strikers in the league.
