Gotta look across how we play

Tend to be 4231 and 433

Out wide we are covered, Tats, Raphael, Haji, EMC

In the 10 (if we play it) we have Rudoni, EMC BTA and this new lad

Palmer isn't on cheap wages and will barely play. And with 1 year left Douglas will be looking at taking a few hundred grand profit on a bloke we signed for nothing

Question remains if anyone wants him and is willing to pay him something he’s willing to accept.

I know this is twitter rumours and probably nonsense but was bored so had a look at John Egans Insta. His latest follow is The Great Jake Bidwell. Not reading into it though just interesting. They would have cross paths at Brentford so probably all it is.

These signings are fantastic and I'm sure it's all ok, but I sort of would like Doug to reassure everyone that all this money being spent is accounted for and we're not overspending trying to reach the promised land. It probably won't happen, but I would like it to. We've had our fair share of homelessness and financial ruin. No more please.

It is probably being done with major outgoings next summer as insurance. This is one case where the reward is greater than the risk I think.

Tbh i think just one sale covers pretty much everything. Sounds like Sheaf is marked as the one to move on if we fall short. This is ok, its good we actually have players that are worth something, and quite a few of them too.

I like that we are obviously aiming for players we feel have potential to play higher, meaning we could already have quite a few players that wouldn't look out of place in the Prem if we were to get there. It's the exact opposite to Wilder and Blunts for example who are signing players who are Championship as fuck, will do ok as a certainty but will likely never be any more than what they are.
I prefer our way personally. Also makes me doubt we would have wanted someone like Worrall on any more than a loan.

Doug - we’re really happy with what we’ve done in the window and I’ve stopped gossip and rumours at source
So we’ll see what happens over the next week or so

3hrs later - signing made
Mmmmm that was quick

If he's cheap or free then the obvious candidates are Sheffield United, Leeds, Stoke, Blackburn, Hull

We are also overlooking fact, KP will want to play/start regularly, so he may be pushing to get out also as its looks like thats unlikely at this stage for him in terms of starting.

SBT when we bring in a marquee signing: Noooooooo you cant have two good players in the same position we can't fit them all in!

SBT when we bring in an understudy: Nooooooo he is shit we need players at the level that can complete now.

All players that we have signed will get enough minutes over the season - it's not the 1950s anymore.

What I would say is that this demonstrates there is money still to be spent- those that have been telling us that we shouldn't make any more signings as we cant afford it need to ring DK and ask him to explain himself.

We've definitely got too used to having ITK information over the last few years that we don't know how to deal with it when we don't hear as much as a whisper

Hypothetically speaking, even if we don’t get promoted this year and sell our 4 best assets (Simms, Wright, Sheaf, MVE) then we are still starting next year from such a strong position:

Dovin
RB
Thomas
Binks
LB
CDM
Eccles
Rudoni
Sakamoto
BTA
EMC

GK
Lati
Kitching
Dasilva or New RB
CM
Torp
Rodrigues
Bassette
W/ST

This would be our starting point and add on top of that a massive 50/60m transfer kitty for some real marquee signings in each of those positions then we are in such a strong position for our future.

Not to mention the players listed here would all have another Championship season under their belt and players like Bassette and Rodrigues may be world beaters by that point.

What a time to be a City fan.

Considering likely candidates to leave next summer, if we don't win promotion, are; MVE, Sheaf, Sakamoto, Wright, and Simms - I'm pleased with how the team is shaping up for that scenario next season already. But clearly, as loads have harped on about, we need players coming up behind MVE and Sheaf for next season, and it would be better if they weren't just bought in last minute next summer, when the seasons about to start.

You have to wonder whether the likes of Andrews,Dausch and Obikwu will be nearer the first team with another year's experience too

Coincidence that leaks on here have dried up (Bar Jimmy87 of course who's clearly ITK) and now Turner has nothing to write about??

I don't sign up for the clamour to ship out Palmer.

He is not getting in the starting line up but he can still do stuff that nobody else in our squad can. He is a great option off the bench.

Secondary benefit is he is absolute perfect player to dispatch lower teams in cup competition.

Kind of agree to an extent. Think he was pretty good when he came on against Oxford. Created a couple decent chances for Wright. He defo gives us something different when we are running out of ideas.

However I would imagine he’s on a fairly big wage so it may make sense to make room + get a bit of cash for him

No offence but I don't know how Turner has a full time job, he's hardly Neville Foulger. There's so many sources of information these days that you don't need the CT anyway

Academy Defender has joined Man City now. Wonder how much we get? Assuming it’s not a lot and mostly add one if anything.

Turner only reveals an hour or 2 before the official announcement, once it's already done.

He never has exclusives... his perk, as seen in press conferences, is to be allowed to call the players by their nicknames like he's their friends.

The system is rigged in favour of the PL clubs now, so don't expect much money coming our way

Everton recently bought a 9 year old from Crewe for £25k. So should get something. The parents often get something

Try and look at it from a different viewpoint. The one thing that's stopped us at that final hurdle in the past 2 seasons is our serious lack of depth. Imagine we had the options we do now in that play off final. If we want to compete with the bigger teams we need some serious strength in depth. I think we are making some really smart investments. Yes we are lacking in a couple of areas, but they know this. Work going on behind the scenes to bolster those areas.
Yes, but it’s the distribution of the depth.

We’ve now got an abundance of central strikers but are still lacking in midfield, right back and potentially even on the wing.
