With this whole 'we've ran out of money' thing, I'm not buying

Record ST + match ticket sales. Record shirt sales (the mark up per shirt sees the club get almost £20 profit per one ) higest attendances we've ever had, regularly, FA Cup run etc

And even if the pot has runneth dry, then take a gamble it's not like we don't have sellable assets

We all know at least one of our best players will be gone next year if we don't go up and for big money aswell

Haji, MVE, Simms we can demand 20million quite easily

Even Sheaf with 1 year left we can't get around 10 million

We have assets that we can cash in on, but he needs to have a real tilt at it this season for me

I think you started the “ we don’t have any money” narrative at the beginning of the window…..

I’d imagine it’s more that we are at our FFP limit and are being very careful not to overspend which is the best way to operate after seeing some of the messes of other clubs currently.

We have spent about £40m over the past few seasons which is mental money for the Championship.

I agree we are in a great position going forward with some real sellable assets but I wouldn’t want to sell them to bring more in this year.

If anyone is going to get stick for the unbalanced squad it has to be Robins or the recruitment team as we are all crying out for another CB but all 4 CBs have been bought in the last two years…

Really? I thought we had to be sustainable and we are still making annual losses from what I have read on here. It would be foolhardy to fall down the same spiralling hole that we have once been down before that took over 20 years to recover from

I'd imagine we're probably losing around £7m-ish a year. Give or take.

We're allowed a £39 million PSR loss spread over three years so yeah we're nowhere near.

We cant spend money we might have. Having assets is fine but until they are sold we cant account for the money as we have no idea what the true value is.

Fees paid shouldn't really be an issue as they're amortised over the length of the contract and we've had a roughly similar amount in incomings anyway.

I mean if true good. Another one that’s pasted us by. We do need another CM but we need them to be able to compete for a first team place not just in case someone gets injured.

Also it’s half a story. For example, do we know what cash he wanted and are there other players out there that we rate higher that might be coming available

We're nowhere near FFP Either

As stated above were allowed a 39million loss over 3 seasons.

Doug says we run at a loss of 7 million a year without any sales.

We sold 32 million worth of players and brought in roughly the same over the last year.

We are absolutely nowhere near FFP limits

I think we had him a bit too early.
He came on for Brighton on Saturday against Everton. He was only on for a few minutes but looked good and scored a "goal" that looked OK but was very marginally ruled out by VAR.

he looked good against a poor team that was already 3-0 down. Jury is very much still out on him, although he clearly has potential

Our losses at the end of SISU's tenure were inflated by the interest charges they were including. You would think now there isnt a load of debt on the BS that would help and our actual true losses arent even as bad as £7m.

To be fair (and this isn't a knock at you SB), no one on here really knows how close we are to FFP rules/limits.

Unless one of the posters on here is Doug or the clubs accountant, no one knows all of out outgoings, incomes or wages etc. It's all pure guess work and with something like this, likely to be wide of the mark.

Truth is we could be sailing close to the wind on it or could have room to spare.

Unless anyone knows exact figures (which you won't unless your DK or the accountant), it's all conjecture and probably inaccurate.

Timing of the deal for TV increase, this season or last? Or spent?

We can’t afford Worrall and his wages. Both Burnley and SU are keeping tabs on him for their CBs that are outgoing.

Madsen, if we really wanted him he would choose us over QPR. So again we might have been interested but are we really making a move for him?

I think there will a couple of surprise signings not on anyone’s radar.

Are you suggesting that King is purposely under investing in the squad to make the last few minutes of games more exciting?

Yes, but he is definitely in Brighton's plans. He played some part in most or all of their pre season friendlies and did well against Villarreal, and particularly QPR.

We need an experienced centre half asap. We have a good keeper, Sheafs a good CM and Simms a decent albeit a bit raw CF. A good weathered CD has been needed for ages.
