Bernede and Alvyn Sanches are both starting for Lausanne this afternoon. So a deal isn't imminent. They are owned by INEOS so don't need to sell to survive.
They signed Bernede for €2M a couple of years back, so I think it will take €4-5M to get him.

Exactly this, there’s a reason the players we’re being linked with are also linked to clubs like Sheff UTD and Forest.

We’re not shopping in the same market as the bottom 16 in this division.

Great on the ball but he’s too lightweight. Was dropped by the Swansea manager because he can’t win the ball back.

Chambers looks a good signing but Nat Phillips gone back to Liverpool. Willock likely to be a good upgrade on josh bowler who was useless, but they've lost karlan grant who was one of their better players last season. Their big problem is strikers and they haven't sorted that yet.

I saw their game vs Southampton this year. They seemed to have a lot of decent youngsters coming through?
I didn’t know Grant had left or that Bowler had been useless. I need to pay more attention.

Now this would be someone I’d like to get as our back up striker. Didn’t really get chance to Norwich when he was on loan. Could perhaps pick him up for a reasonable fee with a more loaded add ons/sell on package if he comes good.

City flop set for Dutch homecoming

Former Norwich City loan striker Sydney van Hooijdonk is training with first club NAC Breda after reportedly being frozen out of Bologna’s plans.

With us recently doing a deal with Bologna for Binks hopefully we’ve built some relationships to get a second.

Has a bit of an attitude problem apparently, played with MVE at Heerenveen.

Chip off the old block then! Pierre V-H was a great player but a nightmare in terms of attitude. All about him rather than the team....

If we could pick him up for like £1.5m or below I think that would be a fantastic signing and someone we can easily rotate with Simms when he’s out of form. In some occasions there can be 3 games within a week and we need to have two quality options for every position and I feel he would give us that.

Sounds like if he’s training with NAC Breda they don’t have many options so may potentially take an offer from us to get him off their books

Dont get why Fulham would want him playing in league one after a season in the championship?

rumours of B'ham spending 10 million on him too...
They're spending a fortune this summer. Certainly make or break for them in League 1

See now that’s reckless spending, @Chris1987 @Deleted member 9744 @Ccfcisparks, I agree completely with what you were all saying in terms of spashing loads of cash around but I don’t think we need a load of £10 mil signings, just a bit of refining.

Curiously how are Birmingham affording all this. I know new owners but I thought FFP would mean they can’t spend 10 million in league one madness

Different rules in League One. It is calculated against revenues for the first season in the division. So basically they get a free run at it for the first year

they've already twice broken the league 1 transfer record this season allegedly. 2 players over 4 million each...

I'd guess there go for the shit or bust method Leicester used to get out of the champ last year... Get out the league before the sanctions come.

Thought they were under SCMP so fees for signings don’t matter. However, if they come back up they’ll have used a significant portion of their PSR allowance this season unless they bring in some serious money.

The existing championship contracts don’t apply either, so it’s only newly signed contracts that go towards it.

im sure I read somewhere that their revenues were really high and they’ve just sponsored St Andrews for a significant sum.

Birmingham will come straight back up - signing Alfie May was a great move for them and if they sign Stansfield they’ll be levels above most teams

I imagine the thinking at Birmingham is to try and emulate Ipswich. They’re probably gambling that if they build a bit of a super team in League One, seeing as they seem to be able to spend as much as they like, then they might be able to go back to back. Very risky and I’d imagine they’ll be in big trouble if they don’t go up at the first attempt.

Apparently it’s less, just over 5m would do it. An incredible signing for whoever manages it. In a dream world that would be the perfect Godden replacement, young and with future resale value.

However as always I will trust the judgement of MR as to who he wants to bring in (within budget). PUSB!

You've not had to deal with their fans on a cold night in Digbeth.

Also the charged us the going rate for playing there, money they were in no position to turn down given their finances at the time. They did not let us play there out the goodness of their hearts.

Part of the new selection process is on personality and attitude. If he's got a bad attitude we won't be signing him.
