If Stansfield was a loan he wouldn't cost a load of cash would he. You say Wright can play down the middle, but has he done that effecgtively before for us?

mate think.

In what parallel dimension does a premier league club loan a top quality player like Stansfield to a club that has two multi million pound strikers on their book already?

Fulham would want a hefty loan fee and a guarantee of game time. Neither of which Doug would sign off.

Personally I think we are in an odd zone now where loans are going to be hard to justify. We are never going to do a 23/24 Hull and spunk money on 'quality' loans. so its backup youth players or maybe someone with an eye to turn the deal permanent. I just can't see any loans who are we going to get in that would genuinely improve our first XI?

I'd much rather spend a small amount of money on a prospect from abroad or lower in the pyramid than giving cash to a Prem team to develop their player

I didn't say we were. I just noted that he is going to a club which is 'our level' when a lot of people considered he was out of our reach.

He was linked a while back, seen a video of him he's very quick and powerful but lacks that final end product as you would expect of a 19 year old striker.

Yeah and that ended well

That graphic someone posted of squad retention, Hull were something like 47%. could see them struggling this season

could be a good fit. Bring him in, Robins can work his magic. He'd get time off the bench

There was talk of a mystery 25 year old striker being lined up a while back. I'm wondering if it could have been Ike Ugbo of Sheffield Wednesday? Birmingham have just been reported as being interested if so.

Ah he's 23 just looked now , I thought he was 19 for some reason, either way has lots of room for development from what I saw if he was someone we got in

They probably do, but as long as they don't miss the payments then there's nothing to talk about really.

I highly doubt it. They’ll be scheduled payments that are accounted for.

Why's there all this mention of Stansfield all of a sudden?

Thought he was mentioned as being in Fulhams plans for the season.

Wouldn’t be anywhere near that. It would be roughly around £5/6m depending on whether they pay the release clause or near.

However yes another £5m+ to add to the transfer funds would be fantastic.

Does anyone know how much we would actually get based on the percentage breakdown?

Would be amazing to see a few pages of posters working it out

Release clause - €85m (£71,564,900)
From 15% we’d get
85-20=65
65mx0.15=€9,750,000 (£8,208,037)
From 10% we’d get (remember to deduct addons)
85-24=61
61mx0.10=€6,100,000 (£5,133,516)

so if the release clause is paid we’d get between 5.1m and 8.2m depending on what bonuses are paid thats just maximum and minimum fees as obviously the in betweens are add ons paid which is realistically what we’d get so Im guessing around 6.5m
