So we thinking this day one then?

Dovin
MvE Thomas Binks Bidwell
Rudoni Sheaf
Saka EMC Wright
Simms
?

Or maybe going hell for leather with a 4141?

I can't see Rudoni playing there, more likely to be Eccles or Torp. I see Rudoni more in the 10 and EMC on the bench who has never played at this level. More likely to come on for Saka or Wright? But pre season friendlies will help sort it out.

Whilst I don’t think he’s the absolute best option, I do think that Ilay Camara guy wouldn’t be a bad signing as cover for RB. I’d like us to sign at least a RB or LB this window, it’s the two areas of the pitch that become sketchy if the main player (Bidwell/MVE) gets injured.

With Dovin all but confirmed, I genuinely think we will only see 3 more in after him and I think we would all be fine with that

It's been well documented we are after a CB, CM and a ST to replace Godden

If we can get that in, along with sending Tavares out on loan, Wilson to whoever will have him and potentially Allen going out I feel we will be very strong

Has the transfer fee been agreed now? If you’re saying all but confirmed?

Sorry back to normality here. We can't pay £2 million for right back to be in the bench.

Wouldn't have thought the fee was the issue, it was probably the add-ons

I like the look of this tbf, when you look at this as a team sheet the only position that is lacking is LB. If we could just find an upgrade for Bidwell, basically like MVE but on the left, we’d be sorted.

I’d love to keep Bidwell if possible but if it came to the choice of either having MVE 2.0 + Bidwell leaving vs no MVE 2.0 + Bidwell staying then I’d choose the former rather than the latter every day of the week.

Don’t know much about this Owen Beck fella but I read that Liverpool will be looking to loan him out again and Birmingham want him. Seen some people on here want him previously

It’s the fist pumps isn’t it?

Nah but seriously I hope we see improvement in him this season cause he certainly looks the part but struggled last season to take a man on and really run at the defence. Hes got frightening speed but hasn’t used it yet. I wouldn’t say last season he looked like our best player

Anyone else get the feeling this window is starting to become a bit messy and stretched? I’m not panicking, I’m definitely not panicking, I just get the feeling things have taken a different route now Stamenic did the dirty on us and Browne has signed for Scumderland. Real lack of rumours (which may be a good thing) and you’d think we’d have seen another signing by now considering Robins said he wanted transfers done a lot sooner this window so players had time to gel, not looking like that so far (unless we’re only getting Binks, Rudoni and Raphael?)

I’m not panicking though, don’t panic anyone, it’s all under control I’m sure

Just chill, it's barely a few days since your last internal evaluation of the transfer window.

Simms, Wright, Van Ewijk, Sakamoto all signed out of the blue. Long may it continue.

Had trouble last season finding a Fadz and Hamer replacement. Having trouble this season finding a Fadz and Hamer replacement. And unlike when we did this with McCallum we can’t just loan them back.

We don't need a Fadz replacement, he played a very specific role as the middle of a back 3, we don't play that way and that's why we didn't need him anymore. The back 4 were perfectly fine until the run of games at the end of the season. We'd played more games by the the semi final than Manchester City.

I'm not sure now we play a back four whether a Hamer fits ?? He had a free role because of Kelly and Eccles in our playoff final season

I think he would still fit now because of his versatility, could see him playing in a 3 with Torp and Sheaf

This time last season (tomorrow i think it was) we had Gyokeres doing a farewell video. We announced Simms but hadn't at that point signed Wright and the Hamer situation was up in the air. We had no Torp, EMC, Binks, Kitching, Thomas, Rudoni

This particular squad with the addition of 2 or 3 more players is surely one of the leagues strongest

If we bring in say 3 more outfield players, all of whom you'd assume we want good enough to be in the match day squad, you could be looking at some pretty decent players struggling to even make the 9 subs.

I'm sure I've missed this being posted elsewhere already so - sorry - but just case:

"I won’t name the clubs involved, but I’m surprised Coventry aren’t one them. Harrison and Ephron Mason-Clark were superb on the left for us last season, but I wouldn’t try and tell Coventry what they should be doing as they are one of the best in the business as what they do."

MacAnthony desperate to sell harrison to us but apparently we are not interested?

Will be interesting to see how Burroughs , Obikwu and Howley are seen as regards the squad after their loan spells .And others like Dausch and Andrews might be pushing for a place too .
Dausch is the one that seems to be being talked about the most

MacAnthony admits in the article that everyone thinks he asking for too much. Fernando makes a good point about our 2 left backs. Didn't realise he was out of contract next summer though. They've already bought his replacement.
