Think we’d struggle to get him. Wasn’t there prem interest this season from established teams?

Half the PL after him apparently, would be a great signing. I bet he ends up staying in the northeast and signs for Sunderland.

I’m sure I read he’s priced at 30m - I like Hackney but even if Doug fancied it, I wouldn’t spend 30m on him

My guess is 4 or 5 at circa £15-£20 million - a few sales will perhaps account for one of those then maybe a few punts on lower valued players ( fancy imaging I would write this 5 years ago!) by lower value I’m saying £5-£10 still by our history huge amounts .

I think we can supplement the 4/5 players you’ve mentioned with free agents, there’s a lot of big names out of contract. Someone like Chillwell will be a good signing

£30m when he’s going into his last year of contract seems steep. He’s a good player but not worth that for me.

Would be quality but I think he’ll head to Celtic

If Saints don’t go up, Shea Charles would be one to look at.

On my FM26 City save we have just been promoted and computer Dean Austin seems obsessed with signing CBs and CBs only so make of that what you will.

There are some good players in the play offs position teams whose dreams will be in tatters at the end of the season which maybe where we will look. Remember when Vik and Hamer left when we lost out. Jack Cooper, Hackney, Sienna, Lieif Davies etc

I would be aiming at physicality all over the pitch, Hackney doesn’t really fit that.

yeah, good point

he would work better for a team that is likely to have all the ball and than isn't going to be us next season

I imagine there will be a fire sale at Sheff Utd this summer, anyone worth having? Cooper in goal if we couldn’t get Rushworth?

I’d aim for Trafford on loan if at all possible, or someone similar.

Brooks and Peck will attract interest but will be expensive and better suited to a team who can afford to buy players who aren't quite ready yet. I'm not sure we have that luxury, or at least not for the prices I'd expect anyway.

Not sure either of them are good enough to step up. And I’m avoiding the Hamer discussion as I’m torn as to whether we are above his level now.

They aren't right now but they are undoubtably of a profile certain Prem teams will look at. Teams who can afford to drop 8 figures on a young player without really blinking, which is most established Prem clubs honestly.
Cooper isn't good enough. We won't touch Hamer i wouldn't have thought.

They accepted £20m from Ipswich didn’t they last summer?

Around that i think. I guess the only way they get more is if a few clubs decide to start a bidding war.

Teams trying to survive as we will be can’t be going in for prospects in general, that’s for established clubs. If a genius level technical player falls our way then sign him up, but we need players who we can trust to stand up to the division physically.

The big question is, how far down the 'most expensive ccfc signing' list does Craig Bellamy fall after the summer. Get that fucker as low down as possible.
