Don't normally post on here but here goes.
We had a pretty much unique opportunity this season due to parachute teams massively underperforming and our own strong form. The cracks started to appear in October but in spite of that, we got through to early January and the window with a sizeable lead.
We all saw at that point frailties in central midfield yet nothing has been done to rectify that, in spite of money presumably being available (Sheaf sale, purported Hughes and Rushworth bids). And now we spend more money on another winger to replace the outgoing ones this coming summer?!
I know transfers aren't easy but why has nothing been done to sort these glaring issues to boost the promotion push? Other clubs have acted so why not us? And as others have said, our negotiating position to do deals contingent on promotion weakens by the day, as any selling clubs or players will now have massive doubts.
It's one thing losing out to Leeds or Burnley boosted by massive Premier league funds, but if we lose out to Middlesbrough, Hull or Millwall etc after having a double digit lead over 2nd in January, I fail to see that as anything other than a failure of epic proportions.
