Scotland Under 21s Captain, and he's a big lad. Can only see this being a positive signing. Well done Pressley (if it goes through)

This is a good news and if it goes through it shows that SISU are willing to invest, albeit it won't be much of a compensation fee, but shows proof of investment which is positive.

Rangers are our feeder club now. Fleck and then Urquhart.

I'm surprised at how little attention this young lad has received. I've caught a lot of reserve football lately and this boy is destined to be top class.

At 17 he's a regular starter at centre-back for the reserves and is consistently putting in excellent performances. He's got all the attributes to make it; a tall commanding centre half who's a threat at set pieces but he also has a great turn of pace and is excellent on the ball.

robbo, proof of investment is positive,
but this is miniscule compared to the players who have departed,
& this does not mean, for one minute, that our owners have adopted the edict 'speculate to accumulate',
more likely SP using meagre funds wisely,
PUSB

Absolutely agree GH.

The only reason I say it in this respect is after the non sale of any our first team players this summer and the constant refusal that any of them will leave temporary or otherwise, there are just a few positives to be appreciative of.

I won't go as far as to say they deserve credit and forgiveness, but it's a step forward.

I think your right about SP, seems like the manager knows what player he wants and won't spend willy nilly.

No. That was Sandy Richardson.
Although he certainly played like him.

Can only be seen as a positive step for the future and all credit must go to Pressley and Waggott.

Let's not her carried away amd begin praising Scrotium just yet though boys and girls...The fact of the matter is we are still under a transfer embargo (of sorts thanks to the FL's 'discretionary' approach as per usual) having STILL not submitted accounts that were due in MARCH! Tim Fisher is a piece of shit and no matter what he does during the rest of his tenure with us he can never heal the scars from the past 2 years.

'Cover for Jordan Clarke'. That won't remain the case for long if this lad is half decent!!

Keep up the good work SP, you have been a breath of fresh air to this club! Long may it continue

You raise a good question without realising it there SBPM2. Would this transfer count under the one in and one out policy or because he is going into the development squad it wouldn't count?

Ah Robo a very good question! Who knows? Add to the conundrum that a tribunal fee is involved it may be worth SP clarifying in his next press conference. Here's hoping its the latter!

Agreed.

I can never remember seeing it being referred to in any CT Articles which mentioned our Transfer Policy and our incoming signing.

I'd imagine if he's eligible for the first team he counts. We've played younger this season.

Good to see another body at centre back. Would've liked some experience, but this guy sounds like a capture so won't complain.

Joking aside, it looks like we want to build a hard working side that have a point to prove. Clearly we will cash in some players at some stage if the right offers come in but its a decent philosophy to work with. Why is he leaving Rangers???

Well CT said he wanted to leave to improve his career opportunities which he would south of the border no doubt.

Has it really come to this ?

3 pages on Coventry signing a country captain youngest and 5 pages on a ticket office manager leaving

Departed from when? A few years ago? When the current regime have admitted they made mistakes? The past is the past.

This window has been unideal, but we've signed players and SP has green light to sign more players - not much to complain about seeing that current team have all been signed by SISU and come through the academy whilst all players to leave this window were deemed 'surplus to requirements' by SP. No great sell-off as many 'predicted'.

Again, the answer to 'who would want to come to us' is high calibre players.

The development squad is the same team as people like Barton and Manset are playing for. Not sure why people think it's some sort of little kids team.

I haven't seen him play but it sounds promising. Has anybody who has seen the u21 games seen him and what did they think?

Sounds like a good signing and exactly the position we needed some cover if one or two of the first teamers suffered any injuries. Im liking the fact that Pressley is going down the youth route and nurturing them up. Callum Wilson, Connor Thomas, John Fleck, Billy Daniels, Adam Barton, Blair Adams, Cyrus Christie, Jordan Clarke, Jordan Willis are ALL under 22 and now to add Stuart Urquhart to the side is very encouraging for the future if we manage to keep these group of promising young lads together.

Of course I acknowledge that not all of these lads could be playing together in a few years time as potentially in the near future some of the promising ones will be noticed if not already and they could move on to further their career somewhere else but I am very much in favour of giving the youth a chance alongside a few of the senior players in our side and help them mature into really good footballers rather than signing has beens which kind of what happened in previous regimes with the likes of Arjen De zeeuw, Herman Hreidasson, Carsley, Kilbane etc coming in.

pressley hasnt steered us wrong yet has he? webster made a big difference at the back, manset looks decent and dangerous and the kids he has promoted have done themselves proud.

i hope this guy slots in next to webster and jordan clarke can play as a utility sub.
