TRANSFER NEWS: Steven Pressley comes right out and confirms the club will be signing a striker today.

Signing will add real competition in the striker area. Pressley very pleased with the capture. Unknown player not match fit and it will take two or three weeks to get up to get up to speed.

Simeon Jackson is my guess given the comment about match fitness. Not a target man but good striker at this level - Jackson and Tudgay have comparible records to clarke and mcgoldrick so pleased to have players of that quality up front. Would like a big unit though as think we still miss the direct approach - especially with the crosses Haynes is putting in.

Got to say id be happy with this signing as well. In terms of signing a unit up front they could always give reda a go?

If it is Simeon, and he knuckles down whilst also wanting to settle down, then it will be good business. A step in the right direction, we just need the Ricoh direction now.

Has diouff got a club yet?
Attitude an idiot and a nutter.
However stranger things have happened
Jackson would be a good addition
There is Rory Fallon as well
Also nuts I think. However I don't think Crawley re signed him did they?
Also has Sam Parkin been snapped up.
However personally I would go for will Hoskins and Danny webber if they are still available

Makes for an interesting day anyway

Unfortunately though this is the type of field we are digging from.

Free players otherwise you are talking loanees and I guess most if them we won't know anything about till they sign.

I imagine we'll have loan signings from September, once PL teams have sorted out their 25 man squads.

Sylvan Ebanks Blake is a free agent. Wouldn't rule him out. Wouldn't be upset if we got him, Could do well at this level, but Jackson would be incredible

Yes makes sense
The fact this player will need to be brought up to speed suggests he is not a loanee

Beggers cannot be choosers, a fair wage for a year bulked up with goal bonuses could be a goer.

Tudgay must be on a decent deal, so we must have a small warchest!

SEB is going back to Wolves according to a few of their supporters who I work with. Do you think he'd entertain the thought of dropping to this level anyway?

Unfortunately this is the bargain basement where we shop miller for example.

I know he is not a nutter however he is not a dream signing at this level

Sounds like Jackson doesn't it? He was let go by Millwall at the end of last season so if he hasn't been training may well be unfit.

Mainly yes but can be used as a cm. Fits the bill for someone somewhere as he once turn offer down from Chelsea to go to West Ham but worryingly he changes clubs like I change my underwear, Twice a year.

The feed on the telegraph doesn't mention him wanting a CM

It says he wants to sign another striker on top of today's arrival and a defender
