At the match yesterday can't help but get a strange feeling about the place.
Everything feels so temporary.
There maybe a reason for this but the people holding the flags before the team came out just looked like they were grabbed from the stands.
No skyblue Sam.
I was behind the scenes at half time but there I could hear any halftime entertainment.
I heard one rendition of our song through the whole match.
Players either on loan or short term contracts.
The ball boys don't seem kitted out properly.
The shop not at the Ricoh and not fully stocked.

I know some will say yes its temporary because we are building out own stadium. However it feels more than that.

Anyone else get this vibe. It feels like our owners can't afford our club to me.

I agree. It's as if they are just going through the motions. I am convinced something is happening behind the scenes with a SISU departure in early 2015

Only good thing about yesterday was a second clean sheet on the trot. Everything else was shit.

People don't enjoy themselves at the Ricoh anymore.

As for the atmosphere, it's pathetic.

Due to an operation I'm unable to drive, so left Essex at 9am with my son, into Euston, nightmare trains not running, considered just going home, but then a some light at the end of the tunnel, the 12:03 to Brum was announced, got on (just, bit of a free for all), finally got to Cov stn after 1 hour and 45 mins mins on a overheated train, Had to fight to get off the train (yes, had to push the morons trying to get on the train before people got off - what's wrong with people) Parents picked us up and dropped off at ground. I thought "finally here time for some enjoyment" oh how wrong I was.

Not sure where it is all going wrong, it's not just the performances on the pitch its everything to do with the club at present, but for me to start questioning my Saturday entertainment it must be bad.

I will be back for the next game but how many more fans did we lose yesterday??

The Gillingham game felt like a real homecoming, but since then I've felt a similar kind of thing. It's not just a sense of place but a real apathy too, that year away has done damage I fear is unrepairable.

This is what I'm saying. Yesterday didn't give a reason to come back. Many are floater fans who go depending on results and style of play. Both were poor yesterday and why would you go again especially this time of year when it's freezing and lack of money.

Genuine question, but when was the last time it felt different to that?

Maybe it's because the bad sticks in my mind more:facepalm: but ever since we started playing Bates, Mackay and co it's all felt mostly temporary to me. Suppose moving to the new ground was a bit of a Brave New World, suppose SISU coming in:facepalm: even despite my worries was a bit of a Brave New World but...

It's never felt 'permanent' for a long long while!

The standard of football isn't helping, even if we were still doing poor but the games were exciting and getting you out your seat it would be better.

The Preston, Notts County and Walsall have been the dullest and most mind numbing games I have witnessed. Those three matches were worse than anything I've ever seen under any other manager. I wouldn't be going anymore if I didn't consider it some kind of duty.

I was in the singers corner section and fans in there really try hard to get things going but elsewhere people can't be bothered. The football on offer is dire and it's that bad I'm thinking of going back to the pub at half-time ! If Walsall had a decent striker they would have won comfortably but thankfully their front line is as impotent as ours.I agree our club has a death rattle feel about it and you get the feeling it's holding on to life when the diagnosis is terminal.

its the first time ever that there is no stand out player ,ive never in all my 45 years of being sky blue ,not known us to not have a stand out player . if I was a young lad getting a shirt for xmas and was asked which players name id want on the back ,well there isn't a name is there. id say our last contracted decent player was baker. all we have now is loanees and youngsters ,with a couple of has beens on short contracts . even fleck looks like he cant wait to get to the end of his contract.to me the ricoh has always been a rip of to get in apart from the odd cup game here and ther ,a rip of when your in ,and treated like shit by the stewards and catering staff .now its the worst football ive ever known ,so negative with a clueless manager and even worse owners .its got to the point that on a sunday / Monday ,when work mates and folk start talking about the footie over the weekend ,I dread them asking me wat was it like up the city ,ther is absolutely nothing possotive to say .

The standard of football hasn't helped, but also the wasps deal had been the final kick in the teeth.

I'm astounded that we went from 27k to 10k in 2 games especially as we'd won both of those home games. No we're down to just 7k home fans. Pathetic

Not even temporary but a sterile atmosphere that makes it feel a little strange and uncomfortable.

As someone close to the club said to me yesterday, I don't look forward to coming anymore, not as friendly and inviting as Sixfields even!

Need to move on, the sooner the better whether that's 3, 4, 5 or 6 years. Onwards and upwards!

It would be more likely be at least 6 years, if it were to happen at all.
6 years is a long long time in football. So it would be nice if our owners invested a bit of time in making it feel like a home again.
Get our mascot back. Get the ball boys fully kitted out in Cov Tracksuits and give the the right footwear.
Get half time entertainment going.
Get in partnership with wasps regarding the Half time entertainment.
Get in partnership with wasps regarding on line ticketing.
Relocate the shop to the Ricoh and share the space with wasps holding the costs.

The football on the pitch needs to improve to capture the imagination of the fans again. However that is a separate matter.

Can't see wasps sharing shop space without a fee
Can't see them helping with half time entertainment without a fee
Don't understand the ticket thing

It will all come for a fee but half the cost of what it was before.

Regarding the ticketing I mean share the marketing the web site designers. The web site space.

Share the ticket office space. Improve the ability for people to buy a ticket and scan a bar code an hour later at the ground.

I presume he means Wasps put a ticketing system in place for the stadium and we use it instead of our current system which falls over fairly easily.

Don't think that will happen as Wasps appear to be using Ticketmaster at the moment which we could sign up for easily enough if we wanted to. I suspect, as our system runs from a machine in the ticket office, we have paid a one off fee for the software where ticketmaster will want a cut, or will add a booking fee, for each ticket sold.

I assumed the RFU had some deal with ticket master. Anyway marketing a bit crap isn't it showing all tickets virtually sold when only a handful had. Fooled some people like Italia to frantically buy their richer on line thinking it was nearly sold out
