Can everyone who is asking for Thorn to go tell me the last manager who you actually liked? And don't say Eric Black because the fact is he was getting just as much crap when he was in his last few games.

We ask for Coventry to stop sacking their managers and now without even playing a league match, which i might add is all that really matters, you all want Andy Thorn sacked after a year and a half. Pre-season is a pointless game (i mean that literally because you get no points from it) so why start crying over it. The only people who need to ask question are the players and Thorn.

If you want to complain like all the Villa fans have over all their managers (McLiesh, Houlier and even O'Neill) and all the Leicester fans have over their managers go support them. And if all you wanna do is support a winning team, go support one of the Manchester clubs because all you are doing is making the real fans who actually care about this club look like moaning idiot fans.

I'll be their next year supporting them no matter what and hopefully when Andy Thorn and his team get us back into the Championship I won't have to lie like all of you and say I knew he was the right man. PUSB.

Who cares if people 'like' the manager or not. Win games, keep me happy. I can't remember the last manager we've had that's done that. The last manager I tolerated though? Dowie maybe, tolerated meaning 'didn't hate' by the time he left.

OK, so say we sack him, do you know who will replace him. Lee Carsley or Richard Shaw. Now how much first team managerial experience have they got. So all your saying really to me is Coventry lost one game now I'm going to blame the manager because Coventry City can get a better one in. Who?

Dowie started off very well but faded fast. Even at his worst though his win ratio was better than Thorns. Still some people will always make excuses for him. Until that stops we will get what we deserve.

Both involve a level of intimacy that I hope me and Mr Thorn will never reach.

No I am saying to you Thorn has the worst management record at Coventry for 100 years. Go on read it again then tell me who could be worse.

I have to say that for me since we got relegated the only managers i didn't like were Peter Ried, Mickey Adams after the Bristol City cup game and Chris Coleman after the Watford game. Everyone else i think got sacked to quickly in my opinion. Got to give Thorn a good 6-10 games in the league before we even think of sacking him.

Coleman after Watford was undoubtedly the most justified sacking. Now that was a disgrace of a performance. At no time under AT have players heads dropped to that level. Until tonight, maybe..

All of the above have a far better management record than Thorn.

Again, waited too long, should have gone after the Charlton debacle, width of a post at Stoke saved us from being in the position we are now three seasons earlier.

Let me see oh yes.

New manager replaces failing manger - Team do well and manage to stay up.

Next season
New manager fails - New manager replaces failing manager - team do well and stay up.

Next seasosn
New manager fails - New manager replaces failing manager - team do well and stay up.

Recurring theme without money all that a new manager does is give a new hope and change the formation, which only works for so long. With-out investment no manager (who is prepared to come) will break the cycle.
And lets face it that is true of many clubs

No my point is that most Coventry fans moan too much over things that really don't matter like most Manchester United fans. They support a winning team and yet they lose one game and people start questioning whether Ferguson has took United as far as he can. Like Coventry fans, lose one game they want the manager sacked. I want a winning team as much as anyone else but simple put I would rather support my local club win, lose or draw then cry like a spoiled United fan.

this manager has not won 80% of the games he has managed - what ratio do we get to when he becomes a failure?

We have broken that cycle though.

New manager replaces failing manager - team do well and stay up

Next season
New manager fails - New manager not replaced - team do crap and go down.

Lets hope this isn't a recurring theme.

Complete bollocks I'm afraid. The majority stuck with thorn the season we got relegated to THE THIRD DIVISION. His name was sang until the last minute of the last game.

He means this season. Some folk who said we were going to walk the division based on some unproven freebies and selling all the quality are now saying sack the manager. Their expectations were too high, but still, we haven't lost a league game yet this season! If we have kept him up until now, realistically we aren't going to sack him until we lose against Dagenham and Yeovil. Which we might-or we might even win! I'd still rather us be terrible now than brilliant and have all the problems come out when it matters in the league.

I think last season was a big test for Thorn with the squad at his disposal... If we aren't in the top 6 at Xmas I say get rid, it is only fair to give him a chance to operate without a threadbare squad at his disposal before he is completely written off though.

Wrexham 4- 1 cov
Nuneaton 1 -0 cov
Inverness 3 -1 cov
Ross County 1 -0 Cov

Anyone of those in isolation is acceptable but together demonstrate that there are problems, against mostly nonleague opposition we have scored twice in 4 games and tonight's team was virtually our first choice team. The morale around the club will be low after such a poor last season, the loss of a few players. We need a strong bright manager who can enthuse the players and lift the fans. Unfortunately we have Thorn who resembles Bungle from Rainbow.

Even so, is it our last four or something we've lost?

Know it's only friendlies, but just don't feel that Thorn has it in him.

Explain to me how much andy thorn has had to spend since he has been at Coventry and to prove a point. When we sacked Aidy Boothroyd who were all the Coventry fans calling for as their manager. Oh right it was Andy Thorn. Those last three months of the season we had Marlon King, Aron Gunnarson, Kieran Westwood and Ben Turner who were all important player and we also released a dozen players too. Who did we buy that transfer window, Cody McDonald, the only player Thorn has actually brought. So now explain to me how Andy Thorn could do anything more than watch that team get relgated. Andy Thorn has got my backing and whether you back him or not I'm sure 90% of the people at the Ricoh will back him when the season starts.
