There is nothing balanced about any part of CCFC.

Up until August 2013 I had never fell out with a Coventry City fan about Coventry City. It reminds me of the 1984 miners strike.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on football with us. So how many goals did he score with his head from a cross coming in? Most of his goals came from the edge of the area or further out. Height doesn't matter as much.

And for those that say we don't suffer from a lack of height up front how many friendlies have you seen? The wife saw pictures I had taken and thought we had school kids as fans which were players. Nothing to do with how good they are as players. But gives an idea on their size. And yes we do have a few players that are tall enough. But these players were not getting in the box.

Have a look at Seabourne against our other players. Some of our players don't even come past his shoulder. And we will be coming against defenders of his size all season. Yet height doesn't matter because it isn't true?

We don't have a small team and stop living in the dark ages. How many headed goals did Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson score? Does it matter that Moussa didn't score any with his head? If he scored them then who gives a fuck. Stop living in the dark ages of football.

Yes you can score goals without height or heading ability. But how many goals did we concede last season from set pieces. We looked vulnerable in the air last year, with only Webster attacking the ball in the air.

Do you honestly think that people are that thick that they don't realise how far our club has sunk??? Like I say, whats wrong with fans having a little positivity about our new signings, whats wrong with a little positivity about the new season. Frankly people are bored of talking about the same boring shite.

There is nothing wrong with being positive and optimistic however this isn't an optimism thread it's a criticise others for being realistic thread.

A touch of reality is needed here.

None of us know how this team will play, we just have to wait and see on that front.

What we do know is that, (unless sisu make a cash donation to the club, unlikely to say the least) ccfc will have the smallest playing budget in the division.

Surely that is a cause for concern?

Not a chance in hell do we have the smallest playing budget.

We've addressed that by signing Johnson (6 ft. 3) and Danny Pugh (6 ft.) rather than having jordan clarke at CB who isn't tiny but is very scrawny and blair adams who is 5 ft. 9

are you talking about SCMP (ffp)? I'd have thought the income from selling wilson and the Arsenal money will mean we are no where near being restricted by SCMP. You are possibly right that it will be the smallest playing budget in the league but thats sisus choice not something forced upon them.

From the telegraph

“All 22 players will get game time on Tuesday and Wednesday and then they’ll be split for the weekend with some playing Friday and some Saturday.”Scottish defender Brian McLean is expected to turn out for the Sky Blues tonight after training with the club as a favour to the player who is currently out of contract.
The centre-back is understood to be merely helping out with numbers because of injuries.

This is why people are worried about the size and strength in depth of our squad.

Elvis has said on many occasions that HE IS GOING TO SIGN MORE PLAYERS. It's a much bigger squad than the start of last season where we had Webster, Clarke, Baker and a bunch of kids

In fairness I forgot about the arsenal money.

Regarding the wilson money, that will depend on how much was received up front.

Yh at least we know we can use the Wilson money to keep afloat rather than pretend we believe fisher when he says "SISU will cover the losses at Sixfields". Who actually cares about the football anyway?!

there is the clarke money too, we shouldn't be anywhere near being scmp restricted, this is the reason everything fisher says about needing revenue for ffp is bollocks. Isn't there talk that we are signing people at about 1.5k a week? bearing in mind that anyone 20 or under at the start of the season who came through the youth system doesn't count we only have to take into account say 12 players (complete guess). 1.5k x 52 weeks x 12 players divided by 0.6, means we need 1.56million in revenue to support that. Wages of 2.5k average would require 2.6million revenue. So the sales and the arsenal money go most the way on their own even if a significant percentage of the sale money isn't lump sum.

But it's all about beer and pie money. Fisher hasn't told one truth in 2 years. Only thing I can say in his behalf is he has told lies as they come from the top JS. She makes every descion and authorizes everything.

Why they keep spouting about FFP is beyond me. They must know no one believes this by now.

It is in the sense that the club is a worthless asset without these. With them it's a saleable commodity.

Are the only club in the football league with no access to these revenues?

Our problem is the same every year and that is the end of season turnover of players. There will be always 2 or 3 players who move on but we always have half a dozen+ So we have to replace them before the manager can add to the squad if allowed, doesn't have to spend oodles of money on fees either but adding a couple or so to a squad of 18 is far better than having to bed in 6,7 or 8.

Yes long term it's a must and we should get all these revenues 100%.

It is just annoying to me that with all our player sales the last 6 months and bits of luck along the way with the juke money and arsenal game, even Wilson was a bit of luck as after one season he is worth nothing on a free to hopefully with add ons 3m. That won't happen Every year.

We are massively short at the moment Grendel and people keep telling me trust sp and he will sign more players but season starts in 11-12 days and we should have a squad by now.

Our main striker is a 1 year contract Shaun miller who couldn't lace Wilson's boots.

What do you think on the player situation Grendel? We need more?

And without the 10 point penalty would have had zero threat of relegation.

we were lucky they didn't give us the standard 15 point penalty or we'd (probably) be discussing if our squad was good enough to challenge for promotion in league 2

The second half of the season though which is a better indication of the squad strength we finished bottom of the league without a points deduction. How we did in the first half with the best striker partnership in the league is irrelevant to the strength of the squad.

keeping this to purely football. i am happy with the signings but somethimes very hard to assess how these players will settle in at the standard. Will they hit the ground running. After jan last season without clarke and Wilson coming back from injury we were dreadful. if we start season like that we will be in trouble.

I would hope that the new signings will come in and be excellent but we have lost four or five players who we know were cvapable at this level, Murphy excellent in nets, wilson and clarke best partnership in the division. Moussa chips in with bags of goals if somewhat inconsistant.

I hope we have got solid replacments but no gsure things with any of them. We need more bodies in the squad for sure and they will be loans and free transfers no doubt. Does not mean they wont be good just limits the amount of players you can look at.

I for the moment have a lot of faith in pressley like how he conducts himself, how he has tried to get the team to play and his general attitude towards the club.

[h=1]Stop being a depressed bunch of wankers !!![/h]
it doesnt matter that we dont have a home(even though we do??)

or that we sell ALL of our best players

it also doesnt matter that we all feel like our owners want nothing more than to get hold of a piece of land with a stadium on it,
for the only reason of either putting a shopping centre on it or just flogging it for a profit

YOU SHOULD ALL BE HAPPY !! SMILE !! YAAAAAAAAY !! its great being a city fan !!!

now where's the prozac ???
